For the first time in many years John Brooks and Mrs. Brooks are not trying to escape from the cold winters in New England. Instead of taking the sunshine in Southern Pines, N.C., they are at "The Northfield" in East Northfield, Mass.
Dr. Edwin Allen is spending the winter at his home, 37 Hancock St., in Boston after a summer and late fall in Linwood, Mass. He is now the oldest member of Bowdoin '85, but the youngest of Dartmouth '85, living proof of the advantage of being a Dartmouth man.
Mrs. E. P. Buchanan (Marion Bayley) spent the summer as usual at Beverly, Mass., and was privileged to have all of her family, including the two-year-old great grandson, with her. It requires no effort to imagine Ed Bayley's delight had he been able to enjoy that family reunion, and especially the great grandson. The son, Eustace, is at Harvard Law School after two years in Japan with the Navy. Another son, Bayley, ends his surgical residency in Boston next July, and with his family, will return to Pittsburgh, Pa., the Buchanan home.
Ralph S. Bartlett '89 has written to the secretaries of all classes suggesting that copies of class reports be sent to the New England Historic Genealogical Society, 9 Ashburton Place, Boston, Mass. The suggestion is worthy of adoption.
The secretary and Mrs. Austin are spending their 31st winter in St. Petersburg, Fla.
