Hanover Holiday in Manhattan: Commencing in March, a series of lectures by Dartmouth professors, similar to the popular "Hanover Holiday" gatherings, will be held at the Dartmouth Club of New York. All alumni in the metropolitan area will be notified in advance of the dates and details; wives and guests will be most cordially welcome.
In addition to the regular class dinners, of which each reuning class is having three, and all other classes two, during the current year, a combined get-together for all classes having reunions in Hanover this summer will be held at the Dartmouth Club sometime this spring.
We're in Print: Soon to hit the presses is a handsome, illustrated guide to the Dartmouth Club of New York, depicting its history, its aims, its facilities, its events, and its services, which will be distributed to every Dartmouth alumnus in the Greater New York area. Even the most active members will learn thai they've been missing something; those of you who have yet to join will find out that you're missing a lot.
Squash News: Though the wearers of the Green have been playing upsy-downsy in the College Clubs' Squash League, individual members have carried off top honors in recent tournaments. Bobby Reeve '38 (who just happens to be national champ at squash tennis, a totally different pastime) won the singles final in the Metropolitan area's most important handicap, while on the same day Dick Remsen '42 and partner Jack Russell of the University Club became the first amateur combo ever to win the open doubles tournament. Ort "Papa Bear" Hicks '21 is beaming most proudly.
Major Bob O'Brien '41 is currently serving as executive director of the Unitarian Service Committee in South Korea. Bob is in charge of the effort to assist native teachers in replacing the methods and traditions brought into that country during the Japanese occupation.
Basil "Doc" O'Connor '12, former President of the Club, has received an honorary membership in the American Hospital Association, in recognition of his outstanding services in voluntary health agencies.
Major Robert Sellmer '35, a former Club resident, heads a U.S. military group in Spain, and has played an important part in the negotiations which culminated in acquisition of advantageous bases there.
