Hanover Holidays: The program of Hanover Holidays in Manhattan inaugurated this year at the Dartmouth Club of New York moved into high gear during the last month. On March 30 Dr. Vilhjalmur Stefansson spoke to an audience of over 350 persons (standing room only; we regret that some even had to be turned away) on the subject of "The Arctic; a Strategic and Changing Frontier." Second speaker in the series was Prof. John Adams, who on April 28 discussed Russian foreign policy, its history, and its impact upon the problems of establishing peace in our time. These occasions have been most delightful as well as informative, and it is hoped that they will become part of a regular program commencing this fall. Chairman of the Hanover Holiday committee is ex-prexy Jib Dingwall '16.
Class Dinners Booming: As of this date, well over a thousand Dartmouth alumni have enjoyed the pleasure of a class dinner during the period since last fall. It is planned that two dinners will be held for each class, with an extra one for each class reuning this summer. In addition, plans are afoot for a mammoth whing-ding that will combine all reunion classes.
A flying start to the Alumni Fund was given by the kick-off dinner in Manhattan in March; over 150 class agents and assistants were in attendance at the Dartmouth Club, and delighted to see President John Dickey up and at 'em again.
Just in case some of you didn't know, 37 East 39th St. is just off Park Ave., three short blocks from Grand Central, in the heart of Manhattan. Be sure to stop in when you're in or near the city. See ya there.
