We sit here the morning after, with the February deadline staring sullenly into our blood-shot eyes. It's the first day of the new year, and already we are cheered. We managed to struggle out of the trundle bed a few hours back and engaged in a revivifying game of singles at the local indoor tennis emporium. And we beat our dreaded rival love-2-2-2. We shall therefore take this as an omen, not only for our own indicator for '77: we are so mellow and expansive at the moment as to believe that it points toward an extraordinary year of health and accomplishment for the entire Class. (This is a reckless comment to make knowing full well that you will be reading this in February, well into the babe's new domain.)
We have here an announcement of the marriage of Dick Brooks to pretty Jan Coakley Foshay, on November 29. They are living at 61 Van Brunt Manor Rd., East Setauket, N.Y. 11733- Nice that the "Jackson Twins" have a new mama.
From Moreau Brown comes a clipping indicating that Harriman Jones, professor of modern languages at St. Lawrence U., has been selected for membership on the Northeast regional screening committee for the Institute of International Education, which assists in the selection of candidates for Fulbright-Hays and foreign-sponsored awards to France for the "77- 78" academic year.

Bill Webster reports running into Sherry Brown, from whom we've heard very little since '39. He is in real estate in Waterbury, Ct., and Web reports he looks fit as a fiddle.
Royal Hassrick, who started his career as an archeologist, switched to ranching. Believing he'd had enough of this in 1970, he sold his ranch and moved to Virginia to restore a 17th- century house on the James River. But, he allows, the West is so captivating that they moved back and bought another ranch, this one in Kremmling, Colorado, just about 35 miles or so north of Vail. Royal and his wife are currently living at "Russellville," Box 7, Franktown, Colorado 80116, but will be moving over in May to the ranch to run some 700 to 900 yearlings on his new holding.
From Pete Younger at his desk at Braddock, Dunn, and McDonald, Inc., Washington, D.C., comes the crytic note, "Did you know that there is a guy with the improbable name of Zitrides in northern Virginia?" Is it you Gus? And if so, what are you up to?
Bert and Sally MacMannis are new grandparents via daughter Bunny on October 29. Daughter Marica is also working at it. Sally's recovering nicely from her operation. Bert reported on a recent trip to Denver that he had talked with Keith Anderson, who has promised to make our 40th reunion, and Dick Shaw, who had expected to be with us this past fall but had to cancel out. Big Moose Taylor was out of town - on a trip to Virginia. The Denver contingent are in good spirits and health.
