Yuletide greetings to all from the Class Officers, who hope that you've all been good boys and girls this year 1955 so that Santa Claus won't by-pass your bowers on his nocturnal meanderings. May much Christmas cheer mellow your morose melancholy, making many merry moments and a multitude of mirthful meetings.

At the request of the erudite editor of this illustrious MAGAZINE, Charlie Widmayer, this effort will be held to a minimum of trash and will stick mostly to the facts of the month. The below notated list of contributors to the Alumni Fund explains the necessity for brevity.

From beautiful Hawaii, nestled serenely in the blue Pacific, where the swish of grass skirts mingles melodiously with the toot of automobile horns, comes word of the dashing doings of "Diamond Jim" Doole, the old mound-master. Needless to say, he's still at it. I quote:

"Just came back from Milwaukee where our Hawaii Red Sox finished second to the U.S. semipro champs in the Global World Series of baseball. Saw Geoff Maclay the night of the banquet inaugurating the tournament. . . . Returned to Honolulu and knocked off the Japan Champs 2 out of 3, then took on the New York Yankees. I got lucky and held them to six hits and no earned runs - struck out the side in the second - but we lost 4-1."

Jim apologizes for having missed reunion but does plan to be in Hanover next June, having a sabbatical in the offing. Any of you who might migrate in that direction at that time, take a look for our migratory moundsman. Nick Nicolais reports his travels as a petroleum engineer, a position to which he was recently appointed. In celebration, he spent a week in New Orleans, lavishly enjoying the good food and entertainment to be found in that garrison of good times. When not debauching, Nick spends his days estimating gas and oil reserves for the Ohio Oil Co.

Ted Bennett, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Morgantown, W. Va., and Episcopal Chaplain to West Virginia University, informs all of the birth of his daughter Carol, on December 6, 1954. Ted also reports the visit of the old solicitous solicitor, JimKnowles, who is laying down the law in nearby Clarksburg. Executive Committee member Charlie Holt is at Northwood School, Lake Placid, N. Y., where he is director of athletics, hockey coach, history instructor and so on. Winter vacation enthusiasts take note.

Bud Morris sends a note which is chock-ablock full of info about the doings of that gentleman.

"Morris family couldn't be enjoying life more fully than in Palo Alto. My 90-mile drive daily to and from Oakland is more than offset by a perfectly fascinating job as an advertising specialist at Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. Big news is that we're expecting our #2 baby in February. Extra-curricular activities concentrated in a lunatic-fringe type operation - treasure hunting. Great hobby for freeing mind of mundane cares, etc. Have put together with my wife Dee a treasure map of California, selling at $1.50 apiece to classmates and unsuspecting relatives."

Bud enclosed a sample to show what segments of the class have deteriorated to. Also to drum up some business. So ... all prospectors and treasure hunters take note. Bud's address is Hugh R. Morris, 348 Seale Ave., Palo Alto, Calif.

It has come to my attention that GeorgePulliam has been quite ill and is just now in the process of convalescing. To those of you who would like to drop George a line, his address is Elton Road, Barrington, R. I. He has been very seriously ill and I'm sure would appreciate hearing from some of his old friends.

Don't forget to play Santa Claus to BarneyOld field by sending your 1955-56 dues along to him if you already haven't. Make it a Merry Christmas for our tenacious treasurer.
