Now wasn't that a cute Christmas and New Year's card from your 20th Reunion Committee? The message and thought that it contained are well worth your careful consideration. There's lots to see in Hanover; new buildings and old friends, old Professors and new curriculums. Come back!

I had a most marvelous Christmas card from Dave Kendall, explaining the rather rapid increase in the Kendall family. Tragedy struck Dave's sister's family during the year 1963 with the result that both Dave's sister--and her husband died. Those wonderful Kendalls, Dave and Ann, have taken Dave's two nephews into their family, and from what I can gather with complete success and happiness on all sides. "Ann is suddenly more than busy enough with a full time instructorship at Dickinson and assorted duties at the church. Dave is having a stimulating year. He polished off the credits for his Master's degree last summer.... His student load is lighter and his responsibilities are more in line with his interests. . . . But most exciting is the invitation he has received to spend next summer in Boulder, Colo., on a new National Science Foundation project with a group of leading geologists and teachers who will design a course and write a text for teaching Earth Science in secondary schools." 1963 was indeed a busy year for the Carlisle, Pa., Kendalls.

Ollie Passburg writes that his family numbers five, he works for Smith and Wesson (engineering), skis winters, goes camping summers, and does a little flying locally "when there's enough in the kitty." As if that were not enough he teaches engineering drawing at Western New England College one night a week.

I quote from a nice newsy letter from Bob Lee in New Haven. "A bit late for ye olde newssheet, but in November the voters felt reckless and elected yours truly for a third term as second selectman in Fairfield. Fascinating as politics is, Jean and our three children like to eat, so I spend most of my time as a stockbroker - assistant manager at White Weld & Co.'s New Haven Office." Both Bob and Jean are also very active in community affairs; Bob just having finished the job of residential chairman for the Community Chest.

BOXING THE COMPASS: More on Party-Time Products President Jim MacPherson. Jim's new company produces nonalcoholic cocktail mixes, he and his family live on Lost Lodge Road, Westport, Conn., he has four children, ranging in age from five to one. Now if Jim will only show up at reunion with a case of his products, I'm sure someone can put them to good use. Nationwide distribution, yet. I caught a picture (courtesy of Eliot Mover) of BobWottrich, Cleveland zone manager for S & H Green Stamps, handing out a scholarship award, one of fifteen presented annually to S & H employees. We will comparef foreheads at reunion, Bob. Long range market trends look good, so call Frank Mace, stockbroker of Mace Co., 40 Wall Street, N.Y.C.

'45's active in Alumni Association affairs include the following: Charlie Cleveland, executive committee, the General Association of Alumni; Ed Comins, President, Dartmouth Club of Phoenix; Bob Nelb, President, the Naugatuck Valley Dartmouth Club; Homer Yates, Secretary, Dartmouth Club of Western Connecticut; Bob Ross, perennial Secretary of Dartmouth Club of the Gold Coast (Fort Lauderdale); PaulSamek, Secretary of the Jacksonville, Fla. Club; Val Schuler, President of the Dartmouth Club of Central Florida; JohnnyOrmond, President of the Dartmouth Club of Louisiana; John Leggat, new father and President of the Dartmouth Club of Lowell; Gerry Hoyt, President of the Dartmouth Club of Utah.

Be on the lookout for more clever inducements from the Reunion Committee. Don't try to resist; these men are masters of the soft-sell. We will expect to see you in Hanover come June and that's all there is to it. But in the meantime, I'll be back next month with more news.
