The Oregon Association held a luncheon meeting on December 30, at the University Club in Portland. The purpose of the meeting was to assemble with undergraduates home for the holidays, and any prospective students for Dartmouth from this area.

Peter Nieman and Gordon Evans of the class of 1957, whose homes are in Portland, were present and each of them gave us interesting talks on the current Hanover situation. Eric Haessler, our enrollment chairman, presented the following prospective students: Robert Chuinard, son of Dr. E. G. Chuinard of Portland; Ernest Tucker, of Oswego; and Charles Martin, son of our very active alumnus Sam Martin '27. There were two other boys who were unable to attend, but who are on Eric's active list. Bob Chuinard has made a reputation in high school circles as a speaker, and Ernie Tucker was an exchange student in Germany this past summer.

Frederick Greenwood, who is on the interviewing committee, was present together with Ronald Honeyman, president; John Ross; Dr.Edward Wayson '37; James Tredup '40; FrankYoungman '45 and Samuel Martin. Mr. R. G. Nieman, Pete's father, pleasantly surprised us by showing up. Sherman Pedersen '31 made a valiant attempt to be on hand, but arrived just as we were finishing the meeting.

Enough alumni turned out to make the occasion successful, but we had hoped for a larger number, and trust that our hopes will be fully realized at our next meeting, March 4, when Prof. Herbert F. West, of the College, will be our guest and speaker.
