At the nine-class dinner in Boston on May 18 we had nine men in attendance: Watson, Edwards, Kenerson, Howes, Whipple, Kidger, C. T. Hall, M. R. Brown and Howard. Clary Howes reported that he had eight children, fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Frenchie did a wonderful job on the Alumni Fund. In fact the whole job was great.

Harold and Mrs. Hess were at Commencement and at the class officers' meeting in May. They called on Mrs. Ray Brown on one of their trips back and found her looking well.

Lew Haney had two letters to the editor in The Wall Street Journal. From their tone I take it that Lew still has his feet on the ground. He is not in the "Conservative Blackout Enveloping Many College Campuses." Quote from Wall St. Journal. Oh for more like Frank Haigh Dixon.

Had a letter from Kenie. He was at Commencement with Charlotte and Andy Jackson. Sue Hanlon was there with Anne Perry ('06).

Kenie enclosed a letter from Fred Johnston '26, son of our Doc Johnston. Young Johnston had an interesting war service. He was in Washington in 1942 with the War Production Board. He was sent to Teheran as a member of the American Financial Mission to Persia and spent more than two years there as Administrator of Distribution and Foreign Trade Controller. He lost his mother in 1947. Fred is now living in Hyattsville, Md., where he is owner of Mobile Kitchens, an industrial catering business, delivering by trucks.
