ONLY SEVEN MORE SHOPPING DAYS 'TIL CHRISTMAS! One of your scribe's early Christmas presents is the fact that this is the Alumni Fund Report issue of the MAGAZINE, and the impressive list of fine-feathered friends of Dartmouth College hereunto affixed requires that these notes be kept as concise as possible and that some items, where the time element is not pressing, be kept for the following month. This we are happy to do, particularly since the deadline for these notes has already come and gone.
Word comes from du Pont that Alfred J. Jennings has been appointed manager of its coated fabrics plant in Newburgh, N. Y. Al has been with du Pont since 1933, and has most recently been plant manager of the Fairfield, Conn., plant.
Wendell R. Barney '29 sent me a picture from a recent Richmond News Leader showing Bill H. King, chairman, with other members of the Richmond Parking Board on an inspection trip to the new major downtown parking facility, the Canal Street Parking Dock. The dock includes two acres of warehouse rooftop which has been placed in service for drive-on parking for 400 shoppers' cars. There will be free airport-type limousine service to the center of the city. Sounds like an imaginative and resourceful solution to the extremely serious city parking problem.
Walter Watson, Larry Riggs, Dr. Bill Teahan and Hank McKee have been in Hanover lately.
And now, before presenting to you the men who make the Class of 1933 an effective instrument for the continuing glory of Dartmouth, we wish you a wonderful Christmas and pray that the Prince of Peace, whose birthday we celebrate, may bless you and all mankind during the coming year.
