Following an early January drubbing by Harvard, 9-0, the Dartmouth varsity squash team under Coach Red Hoehn played three matches in mid-January, defeating Wesleyan, 6-3, and then losing to both Amherst and Trinity by identical 6-3 scores. For the Indians John Levy, Dave Shepard, Bob Porter and Bob Baehr all won two of their three matches. Veteran Aaron Daniels bruised his hand badly in the Amherst match and this slowed him down in the contest with Trinity.
The weekend results bring the varsity squash record to two wins against six defeats. Although disappointed somewhat by the last two losses, Coach Hoehn felt that both were close and that in view of the rough scheduling the Big Green had performed well.
Five dual matches and the Eastern intercollegiates remain on the schedule.
