Hello again. Once more we take up from where we left off last month, in hopes of giving you all a fairly clear picture of what members of '51 have been up to hither and yon.

SOME MORE ENGAGEMENTS Patricia Rowley and Joe O'Connor are doomed to march down the aisle. Pat is a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs School, and Joe has both the Marine Corps and the Boston University College of Business Administration to his credit. Ed Larigan got pretty Judith Burling of Old Brookville, L.I., to say she would so their engagement was announced in December. Judy attended Averett College, in Virginia, and is now a senior at Columbia School of Dental and Oral Surgery. Ed is a Lt. (jg) in the USNR and is associated with Marsh & McLennan in New York City. Howard Phillips is indeed lucky to have the president of the senior class at Wellesley for his bride-to-be. Ellen Birk will become Mrs. Philips in July. After getting his degree from Tuck, Howard jumped to Harvard Law. He also served with the Navy during the Korean struggle. Shirley Yeaton and Charles 'Blood from way up Maine way have also announced their intent to wed. Shirley is attending Gates Business College in Augusta. A spring wedding is being planned by Kathleen Herty and Fred Brown. Kathleen hails from Bethlehem, Pa., but is with Time, Inc. in New York. She is an alumna of Chatham Hall and Smith College. Fred received his Master's from Tuck, and is with the Henry L. Crowley Co., of West Orange, N.J. It will be an early June wedding for Nathan Jacobson and his newly won fiancee, Leila Deutsch. The bride-to-be attended the School of Architecture and Design of the University of Michigan, and is now with the William Douglas McAdams Advertising Agency in New York. And Nathan, after a four-year tour of duty with the Air Force, is at the School of Law, at Rutgers. From New Rochelle, N.Y., we heard told of the engagement of Miss Mary Fitzgerald and Gerald McMahon. Gerald graduated from Fordham, after attending Dartmouth, and is a chain store sales representative for Arnold Bakers, Inc. Mary is secretary to the superintendent of New Rochelle Hospital. Leaving the eastern scene for a moment, we were amazed and delighted to read in the Minneapolis paper just this morning of DickMcFarland's engagement to Marjorie Howard. Marjorie is a graduate of Mt. Holyoke. Dick, of course, is with his Dad's investment firm of Kalman & Co., here in Minneapolis.

Drop another ice-cube in the tumbler, or refill the stein with beer and hear of the ...

MARRIED SET The bonds of holy matrimony were read for Dick Bucey and Norma Vlasak on December 28 in Akron, Ohio. Dick is the pastor of the Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church in Akron, while his wife is on the faculty of the Harper School. A Ft. Lauderdale honeymoon certainly must have been pleasant this time of year. Also walking down the satin carpet in December were Tom Porter and Janice Griffen. The wedding took place at Janice's home in Westport, Conn., and now the newly weds reside in Staunton, Va., where Dick has rejoined the staff of Westinghouse after his sojourn with Uncle Sam. Janice attended Sacred Heart Academy in New York, and the University of Connecticut.

Tripping the light fantastic in November were Miss Louise Munson and our own DickDunn. The date was November 13 and the place was Hamden, Conn. The Mrs. has pigskins from Dana Hall, Briarcliff Jr. College, and the Rhode Island School of Design.

The proud title of Mr. and Mrs. was also taken on by Carol Whitehill and Al Moses. I guess we've already related this one, but at any rate, the couple were schooling at Georgetown University, where Al is in the Law School.

THUMBING THE PAGES Put another cube in the glass and again raise the stein to Nate Jacobson, who was recently appointed to the governing board of the Rutgers Law Moot Court Program. The program involves arguing cases under courtroom conditions and before leading members of the Bar. We note that Jack Lotz is in Jacksonville, Fla., where he is working with the Prudential Insurance Co.

The Alumni Council Meetings here in Minneapolis in January were a great success, and it was very inspiring to hear President Dickey's words, as well as Bob Blackman's, and to chat with all the college notables. Among the '51s attending were the Bushes,Jim Rogers, the Ace Muellers, and perhaps a tew more that the multitudes of liquid refreshments blurred from our vision. We were sorry not to have seen more, but then we would not have been there either, if we hadn't put the touch on the bank to cover the $7.50 per head tax.

Congratulations go to Bill Fraser who has been placed in charge of the Albany branch of the Conn. General Life Insurance Co. Bill is moving fast in the "life" field, and we know all his friends are very glad to hear it. News from across the seas reports Lt. (jg) Peter Dallman to be stationed with the Ma- rines at Atsugi, Japan. Pete is a Navy medic. Bob Meyer and I have been playing hide and seek for' the past couple of years, and believe it or not finally tangled for a couple of cool ones, along with my Mrs. and Guido Rahr, who passed through here early in February on his way to a hitch with the Great Western Malting Co., in Vancouver. Bob is peddling bags for the St. Regis Paper Co.

We were tickled to note that a '51er has again copped the prize in the Carnival poster competition. Rog McAlister's entry was "it" for the big event, which took place this year February 3-5. And speaking of Hanover, two of our kind were lucky enough to have been there in December and January. They are Henry Nachman and Lloyd Richardson respectively. Hanover, New Hampshire's DonSmith is serving at the Army Medical Service School at Ft. Sam Houston in Texas. Don was home for Christmas and is a Ist lieut., no less.

If any of you picked up the Saturday Evening Post last fall and saw a picture of PeteMartin, you might have gasped in amazement, for Pete was 6,000 feet under the city of Johannesburg, South Africa, in a gold mine with several of the African miners. He and his wife Julie had gone there to study the country on a Ford Foundation grant, and in his spare time wrote a - story on the area for the Post. Pete was formerly on the staff of the. St. Louis Post Dispatch, but now we hear he is back in New York, and on the editorial staff of Time magazine.

We will see you in April when we hope the showers will bring May flowers and that all of you will be dancing amongst the daffodils.
