Twenty lashes with a snake whip? No, at my age I could not stand that. Make it a wet noodle! I think I might survive that kind of a beating providing the one administering it was not possessed of too much brawn. In my February column when I announced that RedDrake had accepted the job of Class Agent for the next two years, I listed him as living in Newark, N. J. instead of Newark, New York.
Repercussions came fast and furiously. After careful investigation, I fired my secretary, and questioned my boss — even my wife was under suspicion. Now all is serene again — for someone made a typographical error and because of it, many of you thought that Red had left the beautiful Finger Lakes Country and moved to the congestion of the New York, Metropolitan area. New Jersey's gain would have been New York's loss — but no such luck — Red still lives in Newark, N. Y. — is mighty proud of it — and with good reason. My apolo- gies to you, old boy; it won't happen again!

For the past several weeks (March 3) Prof.Carlos Baker has been appearing on New York TV Channel 4 at 6 o'clock in a program called "Princeton '56." Carlos and his associate, Prof. Alan Downes, discuss the effects of the times on literature and the arts. On today's program (March 3) for instance, they will examine the years 1940 to the present, discussing the causes of anxiety and the responses made by the American artists to its multiple facets, with emphasis on the theme of loneliness. I have seen three of these programs and found them most enjoyable. Unfortunately, with the six weeks' time-spread between the writing of this column and its publication, it was impossible to give you advance notice of this interesting series.

Irving is director of market research for the McLaurinJones Co., large manufacturers of gummed papers and tapes.

With the coming of longer days and warmer and more pleasant weather, one naturally looks forward to spring and then to summer - the time of picnics, outdoor activities and reunions. Just one year from June, we will have our 25th! Why not plan now to attend with your wife and family? In the meantime, however, during the coming months, arrange get-togethers with your classmates and their families through your local Dartmouth Clubs or on your own. Get your wives and children to know the families of your classmates so that all will want to come to the Big 25th! I know of no wife who has been to a reunion and does not want to go back - and the 25th is the biggest and best!
