If any of you are in Hanover vicinity for the Cornell game, you are cordially invited to the Executive Committee meeting which is scheduled for approximately 10:00 A.M., Nov. 16. The place is as yet not settled, but Nick Sandoe or Cliff Jordan can direct you. This is a sincere invitation, for we of the Committee are but your stewards and welcome any and all criticism you can make. We work for you.

News from New York City this last summer is of extreme interest to all '45s, especially members of the Bachelor's Club. Seems two of their most faithful fell by the wayside (as most of the faithful are wont to do sooner or later). I begin with the first event and will continue in chronological order. Jim MacPherson married Miss Ellen Niedringhaus of St. Louis last June. "Suzy" was a graduate of John Burroughs School, Chatham Hall, and attended Sarah Lawrence College. Jim was a confirmed bachelor, an advertising account executive, and lived at 7 Park Ave., The City, with Frank Mace, another confirmed bachelor. All kidding aside, Jim, our very best to you and your bride . . . and congratulations, Suzy, for a job well done. Second item: 80 days later, Frank Mace, a confirmed bachelor, Sales Manager for Luft Cosmetics, and a resident of 7 Park Ave., got married. Harriet Harding of Oak Park,Ill., obviously a master at slight-of-hand, performed the coup d'etat and receives the order of the white chrysanthemum for her conquest. Seriously, Frank and Harriet, the class sends its best regards and awaits the fifteenth reunion with anticipation.

Well, having lapsed into my old style of writing against my promises and intentions (only an event of such magnitude could have persuaded me to violate my own trust), I now revert to my new character, that of the cold, calculating, comma-cal, collector and dispenser of newsworthy notations and edifying events.

Treasurer Barney Oldfield (may his bounty increase) has passed along some more of the kind notes you jotted on the back of your dues bills. I apologise for the apparent age of these items (the paper has turned brown) but duly record them, feeling that any information is better than none at all. Tony Nicolais, still evaluating properties for the Ohio Oil Co., in Midland, Tex., informs all of the birth of son Paul, now one year and three months old. Belated congratulations, Dad and Mom. Jim Drumm apologizes for being behind on his news, but we can't really take him to task. He reports Patrick Bailey Drumm born April 12, 1956, while we report it now. The mails must be slow from Lima, Peru. Write U.S. Embassy, Vienna, Austria, if you wish to contact Gene Pinney, for that's where he'll be for another year, at least. Also congratulate him on the birth of his first child, Ellen Rolfe, born Aug. 27, 1956.

I was sorry to miss the dedication exercises of the Brundage Lodge at the Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme Center which took place on Sat., Sept. 28. Hope some of you were there. But if your skiing Hanover-way this winter, drop in and look around. I think you'll agree that it is indeed a fitting memorial to Pete.

News of note from here 'n there: New Sealtest plant in Toledo opened on April i but with the same old manager, Bob Wottrich. One item in this report puzzles me . . . that the ice cream will be palletized and moved by fork trucks. My ice cream is hard enough now without being palletized. Wot gives, Wottrich? Continental Casualty Company announces the appointment of DickSeybold as claim Manager of its Pittsburgh office. Dick, a member of the Illinois Bar, has been with Continental since 1955. Rod Shepherd, Wellesley, Mass., has been named controller of the National Merchandising Corp., of West Roxbury. Atty. Jerry Farrell has established his own law office in Spring-field, Mass.

And finally, Cliff Jordan has been named executive secretary of the Dartmouth Alumni Fund and Class Gifts Committees, succeeding Nick Sandoe who was recently appointed assistant director of development. Cliff has been an associate since 1953 and also serves as an associate in the Office of Development. Some of you may not feel too endeared towards the Fund but here is one guy who gives everything he has to make it successful. I have seen Cliff and Nick in action and when June 30 rolls around each year these fellows are literally exhausted, physically and mentally.

Drop in next month and I'll see what bits of news I can spread for you.

Jack Kellstrand '46 and his wife Ada appear on TV screens as "The Tumble-Weeds." This is strictly a hobby; Jack, who lives in Granada Hills, Calif., is a salesman with the H. J. Heinz Food Company.

Secretary, Middlesex School, Concord, Mass.

Treasurer, R.D. 1, Stoney Ridge Rd., Avon, Ohio
