With the usual late start, I shall hasten to get these few words on their way to Hanover before the month of March itself becomes a reality.

Leading the parade this month are weddings and engagements. On December 27 Pete Betts took as his bride, Miss Marilyn Mae Hays of Wellesley Hills, Mass. Recognizable in the bridal party was Walt Friend. The bride was graduated from Dana Hall and the Pratt Institute of Art in New York. They honeymooned in New England, staying a night at the Inn, and are now settled down at 387 Beacon St., Boston.

Bob Bastian and Miss Nancy Rose Zeller of Chicago are engaged. The wedding was scheduled for January. Will let you know when we hear further. Miss Zeller graduated from Roycemore School and attended Northwestern University.

At the Inn were the Alex Proctors just before Christmas and the Bob Russells on January 18.

We finally found the Christmas cards and got them tabulated for the year some time hi February, as I recall. It seems like our life gets a good deal more complicated each year rather than getting better organized and more routine. Maybe we're just better procrastinators each year.

Cheri Shipper sent us a picture card of their brood which are as cute as any we saw all season. It pictured the three little Shippers, Eddie Jr. (five), Stephanie (three), and Mamy (sixteen months) on top of a cotton bale with the inscription, "Bales of Christmas Wishes." Mrs. Shipper also adds that another was in the offing at Christmas time and should now be a reality. Ed is heading the Shipper Cotton Co. and they are living at 1025 Linwood Ave., Florence, Ala. Their plans for our big tenth in 1958 are already underway - how about yours?

Barbara and John Van Raalte sent a beautiful card from their New York residence at 105 East 63rd St., for which we thank them belatedly also. From Gotham, too, came a Christmas wish from Barbara and Nat Merrill, who are living at 60 E. 7th St. And we always enjoy hearing from Bob and Barbara Russell, Tom and Sally Davis, Howie and Dottie Hilton, Tom and Mary Jane Baldwin, Boz and Nancy Kirkpatrick, Bob Merriam and Dick Greene.

One reason we're slow getting these out this month is that we seem to have spent a good bit of our time lately on trains and planes. If you think it's a big world, we can assure you that your convictions would have been shattered had you been with us last week. We were standing in line for a ticket at Detroit's Union Station, following a rush trip to the Motor City, and up walked Jim Bristoll '50, who served as best man at our wedding and hangs his hat in Simsbury, Conn. He passed along the word that he had seen some of our Dartmouth friends in Cleveland the week before and had talked with Nancy Kirkpatrick a day or two after the birth of their second child. If memory serves me correctly, it was a girl this time. They'll just have to verify that.

A brief survey of address changes shows that lan Macartney is now down in Venezuela with Venezuelan Pan American Petroleum Corp., Apt. 5498, Correos Del Este, Caracas. Harthon Munson appears to be with Grace Co. at Grace y Cia (Chile) S.A., Casilla 14-D, Santiago, Chile. I'll try to catch up with some of the domestic moves next month.

A happy St. Paddy's Day to you all.
