Somebody must be reading our copy in advance since the Spring Weather we had in February has turned to February Weather in April. We are somewhat confused in trying to visualize May, when this will finally hit your doorsteps (Mr. Secretary Summerfield permitting). There's snow on the ground and bitter weather out which makes our fireplace a most inviting spot on a Sunday afternoon. Would that we didn't have to abandon it midway and hop a plane for one of those myriad of conventions that seem to plague every industry these days.

First on the list is the belated announcement of the birth of Judith Eileen Gold, daughter of Rickie and Bud Gold, on November 1, 1956. Unfortunately, Class Secretaries (at least this one) seem to be as confused and disorganized as other people and I've been hunting for the announcement ever since it came in. As luck would have it, it turned up underneath the old bills as we searched for the material for this column - just as Rickie sent us a reminder. We wish that more of you were so conscientious. We'd have better copy in spite of ourselves.

Everett Goodhue - 1900 Class Secretary - sent a note the other day bringing our attention to George Saralegui, who publishes Bohemia, the largest selling magazine of Latin sponsorship in this hemisphere. We'd like to know more about George and his magazine. Trust we can count on him or George Michalek to send in a report. Both are living in Havana.

John Hatheway sent a long letter during the month reporting on the arrival of John Harris Jr., on March 18 at 3:15 A.M. John further reports that Dave Kurr was recently in New York at a convention on behalf of Reynolds Metals and is moving from Baltimore to Philadelphia. By the time this reaches you, we hope that he and Joyce will have sold their Baltimore abode and set up housekeeping in Philly.

Following Dave to Gotham was Bill Pendill in from the Windy City on a mission for Peters, Griffin and Woodward. John is a member of the Board of Governors at the Dartmouth Club in New York and participates in interviews of prospective freshmen. So anyone who hits town can probably settle at the bar and expect to see him bustling through for some confab or other. He says that Jim Schaeffer, Charlie Herterich and Rick Landon are in evidence there from time to time, also. Rick was married on March 16 but further details were not forthcoming at press time.

Got an Air Mail post card from Gil Shattuck, postmarked Austria, saying that he was again vacationing in the Alps and looked forward to making it an annual affair. I'm with you, Gil. Ed Ouellette has joined the Wendell Berman Insurance Agency in Manchester, N. H., as manager and vice president. Ed has been in the insurance business for some years working out of Concord, N. H. He has been a director and state VP of the Jaycees. Rem Drury placed second in the downhill and third in the slalom at the Pennsylvania State ski championships. He is former Pennsylvania State Champion. Jim Johnson was Chairman of the Red Cross Fund Drive in March for Wallingford. Conn.

The month of May cannot pass without a reminder of the 1957 edition of the Alumni Fund. This year's goal for our class is $5,270 out of a total goal of $700,000 - not even a scant 1%. Each of us is an integral part of this effort to maintain the high levels of the College, both its plant and educational program. Do your part - promptly and cheerfully. See you again in about a month. Are you planning Ahead for the BIG TENTH - just a year away?
