Monday, February 4, marked the resumption of monthly luncheon meetings down at Ye Olde Herren's Restaurant on Luckie Street, downtown Atlanta. Despite rains off and on, seven Indians turned out for a revelous good time; namely, Lou Fortuna '38, Warren Agry '45, Vail Haak '49, Bill Hartshorn '45, Carl Evans '48, Win Snow '14, and John McCauley '45. The heat of the discussion reeked of the approaching Dartmouth Glee Club concert, scheduled for Friday, March 29, at the Cherokee Country Club. We're all mighty excited and anticipating the arrival of the group.
Enlistment and interviewing work is in full swing too, and the fellows we've seen look mighty fine. General recruiting work is in full progress and only time will tell what the results will be or have been.
A word more about the Glee Club visit. All committees have been appointed for housing, publicity, and the works, and, under the setup we won't have to be concerned about ticket sales. It's a secret but our boy from Wilmington, Delaware, cleared the way for us in setting the idea into workable order.
At the next writing I will delve into dogs rather intently, because we are preparing for some lusty Dog Showing starting in late March. We've got a terrific candidate to offer among the Kerry Blue Terriers, and I'll surely start ashoutin' if we do accomplish some of the things we're aiming for.
TO NOTE: Vail Haak '49, still pacing and waiting for his approaching starring role as a father of an heir and a father to some hair (that latter a litter of German Shepherd puppies); Dr. John Fish '34 busy as ever delivering babies, and a terrific book of technicalities about Obstetrical studies; Dick Exton '29, having a bit of trouble with a bad back...hope it improves fast, Dick!! Bill Monaco '28, in much better health, and may it continue to highest summits, Bill!! Dune Dobie '38, acting as midwife to a producing Red Wag (that's a tropical fish, they tell me!!).
