We are all happy to know that the Alumni Council recognized "Duckie" Drake's success in the business world and loyalty to the College by presenting him a replica of the original Wheelock bowl at commencement last June. The Petroleum Institute gave him an award a few years ago for his services to the Oil Industry.
Burr Whitcher writes that he is in good health in spite of arthritis in his hip and still has some office practice. His wife Jessie is well and on nursing duty at the Burlington County Hospital where their daughter Jeanette is on duty in the operating room. Their oldest daughter Mary and her four children are well and live in Camden, N. J., where her husband is pastor of the First Methodist Church. The youngest daughter was married last summer to Larry Judge and they live in Albion, Ill. Their son is in the Army Air Force stationed in Dover, Del. Good to hear from you, Burr.
"Esty" Estabrook says he and Ethel had a normally hectic summer. Sounds like they must have had a house full of guests or grandchildren. Cold and wet weather did not help his garden but since Labor Day everything is lovely. Hermon Farwell sent a clipping from the N. Y. Times of October 21 about the son of Phil Fox, Dr. Bertrand Fox, director of research at the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. Dr. Fox has been appointed director by the Commission on Money and Credit.
