George Elderkin with his wife and daughter are wintering on Manasota Key about thirty miles south of Sarasota. George writes that his wife is getting better but it is a long pull. The warm sands of the Gulf and sunshine are a great help. Their daughter, a surgeon, has retired from practice. In December their younger son and his wife spent a couple of weeks with them.

Last fail Jan Huntington had some fine publicity for the "Haunted Huntington House" in Hadley. The Associated Press sent out an illustrated story which appeared in over 400 papers. Jim is still wearing a beard so to quote him "one might almost say that my beard swept the country."

Just before I left home I received the sad news of the death of Bob Estabrook in a Plymouth, Mass., hospital. The service was held on Tuesday, December 30, at the Church of Our Savior in Brookline, Mass.
