Nice letter from (Dr.) Marr Mullen makes us envious. Seems that just before getting sprung from the Air Force he squirreled up 35 days of leave and then blew it on a last fling trip to the Orient, courtesy of MATS. Chief host in Japan turned out to be (Dr.) Jerry-san Block, who insisted Marr write us that he (1) is NOT married, (2) does NOT have three children! (Zounds! Did we ever say all that?)

Anyway, Jerry was living in a typical Japanese house with a couple of other bachelors in the little resort town of Kamakura. And more than a little of the atmosphere had rubbed off on him. "Interior decorating (mostly by Jerry)," observed Marr, "is in simple but good Japanese taste." Also in good taste appeared to be Jerry's choice of the local gals, which should be documented close by on these pages by a picture of the group at dinner in Chez Block. On his way back to Spokane, Marr stopped off in Honolulu for a couple of days surfboarding and swimming with the Bill Monahans.

Most Unlikely Rumor of the Month: Guido Rahr was allegedly married July 8. Details, anyone?

Dick and Toni Barnes are tickled over the birth of their first - Elizabeth - also on July 8. And the third child was a girl for both the Percy Cornishes and the Jerry Lindsays.

Y.

Is Don Binks the only corporation president in the class? As head of D. M. Binks Co. Inc. he's both a manufacturer and manufacturer's representative - but darned if we can find out what he makes and sells.

Kodak has favored the Chicago area by moving Al Karcher up from St. Louis. Correspondent of ours says Al has "a very nice house in Downers Grove where he lives with his turtle." Karcher electrified skeptics, including Bob Bowler and Jim Culberson, however, by racking up a hole-in-one in the Chicago Alumni Association Golf Tournament.

Bowler reports running into Bob Hopkins in, of all places, one of those helicopters that takes commuters to the airport. And we hear there were new arrivals this summer for both the Hopkins and the Culbersons.
