Yesterday I rewarded myself with a climb up the hillside to the Velvet Rocks lean-to high above the Hanover plain. It was one of those brillant blue New Hampshire skies we all remember so well, and the winter countryside as viewed from atop Velvet Rocks was spectacular.
To the north was snow-covered Moosilauke clear against the horizon and west over the Norwich hills were several peaks of the Green Mountain chain. Ascutney dominated the southern skyline, and to the east virgin New Hampshire forests stretch as far as the eye can see. The Baker chimes came in clear, calling attention to the students hustling into the gym for the swimming meet. I'm going back up there again soon. It's good for the soul.

New arrivals in the '52 family:
A delightfully informative letter from George Hibben tells of unusual class reunions at the Boston Lying-In Hospital. On December 20, George and Julie received a wonderful Christmas present with the arrival of their first child, Edward Kimball.
Also at the Lying-in Hospital was Sandy von Peterffy. Sandy and George von Peterffy became parents of a son on December 26. Brooks Dodge's wife Ann reversed the trend, reports Correspondent Hibben, by presenting Brookie with a daughter on the 29th. Visiting hours were reunion-times.
George Hibben and Brooks both work at Polaroid, along with Fred Barstow, while George von Peterffy is assistant to Professor Priot at the Harvard Business School.
Hib reports he's working on a Polaroid project concerned with the development of a color process from the lab to production techniques, looking forward to the day when one can enjoy seeing a color picture shortly after it is exposed. Sounds fascinating, George.
