Grover Fox and Elsie plan on 1963 at Hanover for they do not see many 13'ers in Philadelphia. Grover H. graduated in 1938 and Donald F. in 1944, and there are two grandchildren, sons of Grover who has transferred to Los Angeles this summer from Chicago. Donald, a bachelor, has lived in Los Angeles for the past five years. The old folks plan to tour there this summer. Grover F. is still with the Farm Journal, Inc. in Philadelphia.
Al Urion, retired, is living in Blue Skies Village, Cathedral City, Calif., Thunderbird Section. He and Ellen have two married daughters, one with three children. Long boat trips have been his pleasure — L. A. through the Panama Canal, South America and the Caribbean. Then Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaya, Indonesia, Borneo and the Philippines.
Matt and Dorothy Gately are now nicely settled in Buenos Aires and will not be back here until next year along with a Scandinavian trip. Bill Towler with Gene Towler '17 and his wife had a Highland hopping trip through Scotland in July. In London, Bill met Lew Freemont of Buenos Aires, a good friend of Matt Gately's.
George and Grace Stiles have left Washington, D. C., where they have lived since the First World War, and are permanently settled at 1620 N.E. 34th Court, Pompano Beach, Fla., Whitehall 1-8851. "Come and see us," they say.
Carl Shumway's family has been increasing. Nancy has two boys and Pete has a daughter. Lorna has been working at the AMC Pinkham Notch Camp this summer and has gone to Colorado Woman's College in Denver this fall.
Vic Dunbar and Donald '44 are now in Hanover, P.O. Box 801. Don traveled in Scotland and England late this summer, returning October 2.
Bill and Ruth Pierce, at West Barrington, hear from their offspring. Arthur received his Master of Education from Harvard School of Education in June '58, taught in Concord, Mass., and Greenwich, Conn., and is now serving aboard the U.S.S. Cutter McCullock out of Boston, an Ensign U.S. Coast Guard. Catherine received two degrees in July 1960, B.A. and Bachelor of Music, Oberlin College. She will teach instrumental music in the public schools of Battle Creek, Mich., this fall.
Theo and Marian Jewett have a grandson, Stephen Shannon III, born July i, i960 at Laconia and weighing 8 lbs. 8 oz., a fine addition to the three granddaughters Steve and Mary provided. Steve and Mary this summer flew to California to visit Betty and her family.
Kill Terry left on August 9, for a fishing trip to Goose Bay, Labrador, his second salmon fishing trip up there. "Some country and the most wonderful salmon fish you ever heard about." Betty had been visiting him and Sarah since July 9. She returned to Phoenix August 1.
Bill English has retired from his real estate business in Lebanon, N. H., following his retirement from Education in '51. He and Ruth have five grandchildren, - the youngest, Millicent English, ten months.
Ed Robinson's son John E. '49 has three children, "all very beautiful girls, their grandfather thinks." Ed is still with W. E. Hutton & Co., branch officer manager, trying to retire but too interested in the business to be happy outside of it.
Ralph Bauman and Kathryn have formed quite a regular pattern of life; three months in Florida and the Caribbean in the winter, two months in the wilderness area of the Rockies 100 miles northwest of Great Falls, Mont., and then to Shaker Heights, Ohio. The three grandchildren, Dorothy R. Carrithers', are at Shaker Heights.
T. D. Jewett reports that Betty's daughter, Sharon Lee Wright, left on September 7 for Vienna, Austria, to take her junior year in college there. Her freshmen and sophomore years were at Southern California.
Nelson Gay in Hancock, N. H., has become acclimated. He is town auditor, a ballot clerk, custodian of the Hancock Historical Society, etc.
Stephen A. Terry, son of Bill and Sarah is in Chile. He is a geologist and geophysicist with the Aeor-Survey Co.
Earle Bidwell has now retired, physical disability, and is in West Hartford. Bruce is now a Captain of artillery in the Army and commands a Niki-Atax Battery at Portland, Conn.
