Folks, don't let me shock you, scare you, or in anyway alarm you but have you noticed that our article is no longer the last article in the MAGAZINE? In fact, it' is not even on the last page. We are getting on. I am sorry to report that among the ravages of time is the fact that Lampl Fashions is doing so well that Steve will be unable to continue as Class Agent. I'd like to thank Steve on behalf of the class for a job well done and to wish Tom Schwarz, the new Class Agent, good fortune.
Chris Wren has been selected for the International Fellows Program at Columbia University. The program inaugurated this fall is a new concept of graduate study which enables qualified students to combine their professional education with advanced training in international affairs. According to Columbia, the program hopes to develop able men who will be prepared to assume positions of leadership in world affairs. Chris has just completed two years in Army. He is enrolled in the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism this fall, while participating in the International Fellowship program.
Hope and I had a wonderful time after the Yale Game. There was a large party at the Taft Hotel and we got notes for this article. Al and Jane Rollins are New Haven natives while Al is in his last year at Forestry School. Al and Jane have already begun their little stand with Deborah, who was born last May. Dave Pierson is also a New Haven resident going to Yale Law School after three years of cruising up and down the Atlantic coast as a lieutenant on a carrier. BillKramer is selling computers for IBM in Boston and says that he has a soft pad for any itinerant 57's passing through the area. GiffGifford is now one-half of a rising and successful Boston Real Estate Agency. Bob Staz is working for his father in the Staz East End Dairy in Harrisburg, Penna., processing and distributing milk. Right at this time we saw Mal Robinson, who has just moved to Harrisburg and, after persuading him to take milk from the Staz Dairy, found out that Mai, and his wife Betsy, and their son Mai III, are doing well and that Mai is with IBM also selling computers.
Charlie Schneider is running around the northeast selling for National Carbon (division of Union Carbide) to steel mills and foundaries. John Plunkett is living in Rye, N. Y., and living the life of a commuter traveling down to Wall Street where he works in the investment research department of the First National City Trust Company.
Gary Gilson is at Columbia School of journalism after graduating from the Marine Corps and one year's experience in sports announcing in Waterbury, Conn. As soon as Gary finishes the required journalism he wants to return to sports announcing so here we have the Chris Schenkle of the future. Monk Bancroft returned from the Air Force in March and is now working for his father's insurance office in Essex Fells, N. J. Dick and Carol Lanahan have moved to Princeton. Dick is working for New York Life and doing very well. Charlie Maschal completed the Army and Dartmouth and is now racing around Hartford for General Foods selling Jell-o. Dan Goggan has completed his flying with the Marines and is now back at Tuck School and doing Reserve flying out of Boston on the weekends.
Aaron Daniels has a wonderful job with McCall Patterns where he takes care of a large portion of the advertising and the space sales. Pete Pullen has just finished being a company commander at an alma mater of mine Fort Jackson, S. C. Pete, who has just joined the Long Island set and is a salesman for Whitehall Labs, is presently in a merchandising phase of the sales training program. If you will look in the front of the Sports Illustrated under reporters you will find none other than the name of Duncan Barnes, our representative in the written world. Ed Waldron is having a ball working for Bethlehem Steel and said "Hi gang - Buy Steel." Skip Bohn works for Union Bag selling paper products. He has just received a territory and greets it with mixed feelings because although his home base is Atlanta, Ga., his territory extends as far west as El Paso, Texas. Bob Richmond and his wife and daughter (both named Helen) are about to desert their dog for a three-year tour in the foreign service at Frankfort-am-Main, Germany. Bob Grey is now also in the foreign service and is a vice consul in Oslo, Norway.
We had a wonderful time at the party and will get you a full issue of news at the Princeton Game that you can read in January. Until then Hope and I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Cheers Skip.
