The Dartmouth Alumni Association of Southeastern Massachusetts held their spring meeting at the Cotillion Room in Taunton, Mass. on the evening of March 25. Forty-six men were present in spite of the coldest March 25th in eighty years. As it was vacation time in Hanover we were delighted to have five undergraduates from our area as guests. They were: John E. Swanson '62 of Assonet; Ernest C. Torres '63, Preston B. Rowe Jr. '62, and Richard P. Centracchio '62 of New Bedford; and John D. Ryder '62 of Middleboro. John D. Ryder was with his father, Nat Ryder '24.
After introducing our undergraduate guests our President, Bob Leary '49, introduced the President of the Boston Alumni Association, Jack Benson '31. He told us about their coming events and their plans for the next annual meeting.
We were very much pleased to have Chauncey Allen '24, Professor of Psychology and Secretary of his class, as our main speaker. He did a fine job bringing us up to date on the new building program and other recent activities and trends in Hanover. We hope he can be with us again soon. The meeting closed after we enjoyed the film "Football Highlights of 1959."
President Dickey was present at a dinner in Syracuse on March 22 when Bill Morton '28 (left) was presented with a scroll honoring him in behalf of his many services to the College. Another contemporary, Robert Beadel '29 (right) served as the toastmaster.
Sidney C. Hayward '26 (r), guest speaker at the Annual Dinner in Baltimore on April 7, visits with William McCarty '26 (1), Club Secretary, and Robert Jones '33, President.
