Paul Berry has been appointed Vice Consul at the American Embassy in Tunis. He will spend two years there. Until his present assignment, Paul had been with the State Department in Washington. Immediately after graduation in 1956 he went to Europe for seventeen months where Paul attended private summer school for three months in Grenoble, France, and then a term at the University of Paris. The balance of his time in Europe he spent traveling on his own.

Army Second Lieutenant Arnie Kroll completed the twelve-week field artillery officer basic course at the Artillery and Missile School, Fort Sill, Okla. The course, designed for newly commissioned officers, concerns communications, artillery transport, tactics and target acquisition. Arnie was employed by the Western Electric Company, Kearny, N. J., before entering the Army.

Army First Lieutenant Arville Hickerson recently arrived in the U.S. Army's Berlin Command, where he is assigned as a platoon leader with Company B, 2nd Battle Group of the 6th Infantry. The mission of Berlin Command is to protect American rights and property in this isolated city deep in the Soviet Zone of Germany.

Lt. Hickerson is a senior parachutist and a qualified ranger, who also holds the Brazilian Parachutist's Badge. Prior to his arrival in the "Divided City" of Berlin, Lt. Hickerson was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg.

Following a three-week honeymoon in New Orleans, La., and through the Southern States, Mr. and Mrs. Wallie Pugh will make their home in New York City where Wallie will be associated with Price Waterhouse and Company. Recently, he completed a two-and-a-half-year-tour of duty with the U.S. Air Force, serving with the auditor general at Convair, division of General Dynamics Corp., at Fort Worth.

Bill King, a graduate of Tuck and Thayer, is an engineer at Transitron, Melrose, Mass.

The Rev. Frederick Lowry was ordained to the Christian ministry and installed as pastor and teacher of the Orient Congregational Church on February 28. Fred received the B.D. degree in the pastoral ministry from the Divinity School of Yale University in 1959.

A June wedding is planned for Dawn Detiviler and John Palmer. John is now with the Southern Railway.

Attorney Ted Wadleigh of Manchester recently became associated with the law firm of Booth, Wadleigh, Langdell, Starr, and Peters. After attending the University of Michigan Law School and receiving the degree of LL.B. in 1959, Ted attended the New York University graduate tax school. He passed the New Hampshire bar in June, 1959, and was admitted to practice in New Hampshire, in September of the same year.

Two summer weddings come to mind. First, Valeria Vergobbi and Lt. (jg) Dick Groeneveld, U.S.N. The second newly wed couple will be Barbara McKee and David Denison. Dave served two years with the Army and is now employed as a geologist by the Climax-Molybdenum Company of Climax, Calif.

Let's hop around and pick up some spot news on various '56ers. Bill Balch is a stock broker with Dean Witter and company, Oakland, Calif. Lt. Herm Engelbach is Project engineer, U.S.A.P., Barksdale Air Force Base, La. Tom Fead pursues sales work with the Conn. Mutual Life Insurance Company, Denver, Colo. Dick Leamna is working in the field of industrial relations for Scott Paper Company, Chester, Penna. Bob Schwartz is an analyst with Value Line Investment Survey, New York. And, Ted Weymouth is an accountant with Arthur Anderson and Company, Chicago, Ill.

This past April Barbara Siegel and Charles Bockus became Mr. and Mrs. Chuck served with the Army in Turkey as an English instructor of Greek and Turkish Army and Air Force Officials.

If my timing is correct you should be reading this June column about one week before our Big First. So, write the milkman a note you'll be away June 17, 18, 19, lock the front door, and head the transport toward Hanover. Hope to see as many as possible very soon.
