This is "sugarin' " time up Hanover way and also the heavy beer drinking time for students. Farmers in the Hanover area ought to put the collection cans up higher. So much for my report to the pure food people, now for news about people you know.

John Rankin is our new Tomahawk editor. Great news, John. Maybe one of your IBM systems could mechanize the task. John takes over from Bob Hunt who did an admirable job and now finds little time for extras with law school at night, plus business, plus an expected little "Hunter" this June. If you have any of those green news slips on hand send them to John at New Hope, Pa.

Buol Hinman sends an interesting note from Rome, N. V. He and Joan had a little boy, Kirk, on the day before Christmas. He sees Sam Johnson in Buffalo. Sam works as a sales engineer for the Mcßee Cos., accounting systems. Also mentioned by this genial giant from upstate was Fred Wightman whom he spotted in New York City while waiting for a train. Fred is doing insurance work for National Bulk Carriers. Buol has an up to date report on Dentist Fred Casivell's office. It is well stocked with the latest magazines, so don't send anymore, thank you. And Bill andLibby Prince are up in Watertown, N. Y. where Bill is doing an apprenticeship in architecture. Thanks for the coverage, Buol.

The wheat pushers from the West are descending on the East. Bud Wingate just arrived to take over a territory which, curiously enough, includes Vassar College on Che account list. Bud seems anxious to "service" this account, but a May wedding to Elizabeth Leffee of Chicago will certainly curtail any extra sales pitches in Poughkeepsie. Bud is selling for Russel Miller Milling Company of Minneapolis. "Spook" Spoor has been in New York for Pillsbury these last two years. Spook, I'll give you a call as promised at the Yale game two years ago.

Dartmouth lost miserably to Columbia the other night in basketball, but it did bring out a quorum of '46s. Al Schlosser, last seen ghosting the coast, tells me he jumped up from a big order to say hello to a young doctor in a hospital in Denver. It was Charlie Cunningham, who is interning there. (Nice to find out where you are, Charlie. Last I knew you were at Rochester Med.) Al is traveling most of U.S. working with Bauer and Black salespeople on special problems and promotions. He looks well and seems right prosperous. Also present at this game was Aud Brindley, who seemed to wince at the sight of what was once a pastime of his.

Jackie Kimball writes that the '46 dues just ain't. You who read this are honorable paid up people but if you see a reluctant class member give him a needle to send the new low dues to Bob.

Wilbur Pillsbury is working for his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Indiana. That's a long way from old Prof. Goodhue's "supply and demand" story, Bill. Norm Andersen is raising his expanding family in Massapequa, Long Island. He is a salesman for Reynolds Metals Packaging Division, likes it, has a new home, and says that he has seen Pussy and Norm Andersen on some of his trips to Baltimore. Ed Johnson has been recalled to the "Corps." He is now an Administrative Officer at Cherry Point, N. C. The Johnsons had a little Tom born in October. Bob Litwin is doing graduate work in Oral Surgery in Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Tufts Dental School. His wife is working for a Dartmouth man, former ski champ Charlie Wilde. Luke and Nancy Van Orden have their home in Verona, N. J. Here, I learn, they have discovered deserved peace and quiet never before attained due to the "Wigwam Whiskey Club" run by Jim Randolph '48 who shared the topside apartment in that memorable village. They now have three little ladies, Deborah, Katie and Lissa. Better buy three ladders Luke, three weddings will mean financial ruin, play up the thrill of eloping, then you and Nancy can cruise in your later age. Luke is an Assistant Accounting manager in the General Chemical Division of the Allied Chemical and Dye Corporation. "Chip"Coleman, now a graduate of Cornell Law, is clerking till Bar exam time. For his labors he receives $5.00 per week which, says Chip, is an incredible amount compared to his first salary of $O.OO up until this January. He saw "Moose" Marlette in Buffalo several times, made Gene Bokor's wedding and gets an occasional phone call at weird late hours from Spence Smith out in Chicago.

Wheeling up Madison Avenue, too early to be Jack Sayers, was Jack Sayers the other day. He and Nona will return to the New York area from Washington shortly. Lunch with Andy Murtha found him being overworked by Time Inc., but with no complaints and with a plan for a month's vacation this summer.

You know the Dartmouth Club in New York prints a neat little newspaper. It is greatly enjoyed and well done. Who do you think is the moving force behind its business management—that sly gentleman Ken Hurd. Ken always seems to be able to make a publication go. His main effort is as Account Executive on the Bond Bread account via BBDO Advertising Agency. (How come Hopalong Cassidy likes Bond Bread in New York but Holsum Bread in Akron, O.?) Also on this Dartmoth Club organ is Ralph K. SmithJr., Associate Editor. Ralph is a lawyer at 37 Wall Street.

New babies: Dick and Jo Morse had a fine baby girl named Phyllis on January 23. The Morses have a new home in Montclair. The Bill Bulls announce a new young lady, Christine, born February 15 in Burlington, Vt..... another Andrea Mead, hey Bill.

Ann Franklyn of Noroton, Conn., announced her engagement to Rod Beach. Ann is a Vassar graduate and while doing some work at Columbia met Rod who is a graduate student there. (Hope you don't mind a little reading between the newspaper clipping lines.) Lt.Hank Parker, USMC, and Pauline Whitaker announced their engagement in Minneapolis. Hank has been called back into the Marines and is an instructor at Quantico. Valentine Day had an extra for John Ashby for this was the day of his engagement to Mary Finnerud. John just finished his second hitch for the Navy. Lester Boyce and Naomi Rumiano will be married early this summer. Les is in business in Boston. Bob Martin, an Assistant Prosecutor in the office of Myles Lane '28, is engaged to marry F,lizabeth Rippey of Chuckatuck, Va., in the spring.

You fishermen will be interested in a series of ads in the outdoor magazines being run by United Aircraft. There will be a map offered of out-of-the-way fishing spots best reached by air travel. Watch for it.
