Dave Heusinkveld, our Surgical Representative in Lewiston, Idaho, has his family in a state of rapid growth: Henry George became Dave and Mary's youngest on Decernber 4, displacing in that spot his sister, who had shortly before displaced brother Jake. Dave is in private practice.
The Board of Directors of the Lake Shore National Bank in Chicago has appointed Deke Jackson assistant vice president and manager of the consumer credit department. Deke joined the bank in August of last year after previously laboring for the LaSalle National Bank and the Consumer Credit Corporation, both of Chicago. The Jacksons are now making their home at 103 North Wright St., Naperville, Ill., and Deke and Nardine are happy to report the arrival of Jill Louise last July. Daughter Mary is now 2 years old.
Educational TV Note: Also Harvey Chandler note: Harv, in his capacity as President of the New Hampshire Planning and Zoning Association (he is District Manager for Electric Light and Power Company, the Public Service Company of New Hampshire and lives with Sandy and Susan, three-and-a-half in Hillsboro) journeyed to the UNH and WENH-TV where he joined two other Planning Officials in "the first television planning seminar of its kind in the United States." This mass production effort to educate the local government officials in the principles of planning the use of our communities is worthy of wide notice.
Jim Rooney and his October bride Audrey will emigrate to Lexington, Ky., where Jim will serve the University of Kentucky as professor of pathology.
From Beverly, Mass., comes word that BobSmith has been named assistant manager for the North Shore Gas Company, subsidiary of the New England Electric System. Prior to his new position, Bob was a commercialindustrial supervisor for the Mystic Valley Gas Company. After graduation he worked for the Salem Gas Light Company and in 1955 joined the North Shore Gas Company as a field representative. Bob and wife Carol are living at 3 Sunbeam Lane, Swampscott, Mass.
The New Haven Advertising Club gathered recently to hear Ed Graham, the high flying representative we have placed among the independent advertising executives, in charge of, among other things, the Piel's beer "Bert and Harry" cartoon. This last mentioned he thought up and developed extensively, as all Bert and Harry fans realize. Before setting up his own agency, Ed did tours with McCann-Erickson and Young and Rubicam. He and Nancy live in Manhattan.
Al Winslow has emigrated to Watertown, N. Y., joining the architectural firm of Sargent, Webster, Crenshaw and Folley as a city planner. Al moves from the University of Illinois, where he has been on the faculty as a design instructor in landscape architecture. He has had extensive experience in landscape design and city planning with associations in California, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Al and Peggy have two boys: Curtis five-and-a-half, and Bradford three-and-a-half.
Loomis Dana, our agent in the higher circles of the great YMCA movement, has moved in on Middletown, Conn., and will be in charge of the Y's activities in several of the communities about Middletown and at a new campsite which the Y is just setting up. Loomis used to be in Providence at that Y. He's actually been all over the place, Chicago, Lawrence, Mass., Boston, studying social work, running Y's and camps. He's been secretary of the New England Association for Youth Work, a deacon and Sunday School superintendent in his church, and the sole comfort and protection of Sue and their two boys, Richard and Gregory.
Another recruit for the great army of Life Insurance peddlers is Frank Bateman, who joins the MacNeil Insurance Agency in Lexington, Mass. Frank, still listed in the single category is vice-president of the Jay Cees in Lexington.
John Loveland, no newcomer to that army, recently set up a general agency in Skokie, Ill., for the Bankers Life Insurance Company.
Rocket Reed (Oil, oil, oil) has a big new promotion which one of our under-cover agents picked off the pages of Petroleum Week: Assistant General Manager of Tidewater Oil's eastern division. Rocket headquarters his work in Manhattan with his wife Barbara and kids, Sandra, Valerie, and Jonathan in Rye. He used to be Marketing Manager of this eastern division thing.
