REUNION - FIFTH CALL - I understand the "official reservation forms" sent out first by Lipp in March have begun to roll in and Middle Mass will be bursting at the seams as '42's MAMMOTH 20th gets underway on June 16. We'll be looking for you at the '42 tent out front so plan to come early and stay late.

After two years as editor and assistant manager of the Suburban List in Enosburg, Vt., Mike deSherbinin has purchased controlling interest in the Journal Record corporation, publisher of the 117-year-old Amherst Journal Record in Amherst, Mass. The transfer, effective in March, culminates many years of newspaper work dating back to undergraduate days when he was editor of the Dartmouth. Following the war years, Mike edited the national newspaper of the American Veterans' committee in New York prior to spending four years in Geneva, Switzerland where he received a degree from the Graduate Institute of International Studies and was assistant director of public information for the UN's International Refugee Organization. In 1952, Mike and Pauline returned to this country, living in Hanover while he worked on the staff of the Valley News (founded in 1952 in Lebanon, N. H.), becoming editor in 1956. The deSherbinin family moved to Amherst last month and we all wish them success in the years ahead.

Having noted briefly in March, the appointment of Ed Doty as manager of the newly created Product Development Organization of Sylvania Electronic Systems, a division of Sylvania Electric, we now bring you the complete story. Since 1952, Ed has been associated with Sylvania, now a subsidiary of General Telephone and Electronics Corp., having joined the company as personnel manager for its Atomic Energy Division in Bayside, N. Y. In 1954, upon formation of the new division, he became manager of industrial relations and last year was appointed chairman of its long-range planning committee. Prior to Ed's association with Sylvania, he was affiliated with the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in Los Alamos, N. M., and the Julius Hyman Co. in Denver, Colo.

What is Consolidated Electronics Industries Corporation's gain is ACF Industries loss as Roland Tremble joined the former organization in the middle of March as controller in addition to assuming the same responsibilities for the subsidiary company. Philips Electronics and Pharmaceutical Industries Corp. With a long background in accounting, it was the year 1951 when Rollie joined ACF as director of taxes, leaving his job as controller of Wood and Selick, Inc. In 1955 when the company adopted a product-division type of organization, he became director of programming and two years later was elected controller of ACF Industries, Inc. On the home front, I understand Pat is contoller as far as their four boys and two daughters are concerned.

Dick Bolton was appointed assistant vice-president of National Commercial Bank and Trust Co. of Albany, N. Y„ in February to serve in the expanding area development department. Currently with the law firm of Tepedino and Fisher, Dick was formerly assistant United States attorney and from 1948 to 1952 was assistant district attorney of Rensselaer County. Prior to college, he graduated from Albany Academy and today is a director of its Alumni Association. He and Marian with their three boys live in Cohoes, N. Y.

The advent of spring found Dick and Helen Maxwell off to Kingston, Jamaica via BOAC jet where they were house guests for two weeks of old friends. Among the many pleasures of the Caribbean were rounds of golf, swimming, exploring the island and experiencing an all day bamboo raft trip on the Rio Grande River. They recommend the locale to anyone for vacation.

From the short news department we note: Bob Hill was elected a director of Investors Diversified Services, Inc. in February - Dick Geppert, with the State Department is now in the consular service in Belize, British Honduras - from Newport, N. H., where attorney Dick Duncan has practiced for the past twelve years, two of which were spent in the Attorney General's office in Concord, comes news of his election to the local school board in March for a three-year-term. Dick is also one of the three Sullivan County Commissioners and serves on the Board of Trustees of Newport Hospital.

Having read this far, don't forget we are rapidly approaching mid-way on the Alumni Fund campaign and while Krete is breathing normally now, we don't want to push his sense of humor too far or overtax his forty-ish attitude toward whirlwind finishes. Just remember, '42 and its tenth Green Derby is up to you.
