Congratulations and our appreciation are extended to Eddie Chinlund for his splendid leadership in the 1963 Alumni Fund campaign. This was Eddie's first year as our Class Agent and he came through in the styles of Jack Moxon and Cart Strickland with colors flying. 1929 was one of four classes to exceed $40,000 in total gifts. This was a tremendous accomplishment of which we can all be proud. Eddie would be the first to acknowledge the wonderful support and spirit of the members of our Class.

Twenty-niners continue to make the headlines. Dud Orr and Bob Monahan have been active in recent weeks generating interest in Nelson Rockefeller '30 for the New Hampshire presidential primary next March. Frank Kenison, Chief Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court, has become the new chairman of the Conference of Chief Justices. Frank had been serving previously as vice-chairman of this national conference which held its annual session this past summer. A former attorney general, Justice Kenerson was appointed to the Court in 1946 and became chief justice in 1952. Dr. John Dickey was the principal speaker at the first formal honors convocation at Berkshire Community College held this fall.

From the Connecticut press, we learn that Dr. Leonard Doob has been appointed director of Yale University's Division of the Social Sciences. Leonard, who is a professor of psychology, has been a member of the Yale faculty for twenty-nine years.

Lincoln Morris, a senior partner of Seligson and Morris, New York law firm, has been elected a director of Schenley Industries, Inc.

Susan Catherine Smith, of Lake Forest, Ill., formerly of Dedham, Mass., has joined the '29 family, having become the bride of Stewart Allan Finlay on September 15. Stewart, the son of Al and Lucy Finlay, is a student at Boston University where he is in the Naval Submarine Reserve.

Barbara Truxton Brittan, daughter of Trunkie and Ruth Brittan, was married to Richard Westervelt Crane '63 in Hanover on September 26. Barbara and her husband will make their home in Pensacola, Fla., where Mr. Crane is an Ensign in the Naval Air Corps.

Ben Stacey, vice-president of the First National Bank of Boston, continues as a prominent speaker on matters of finance. He was given rapt attention recently by the Boston Investment Club at its first dinner meeting of the season at the Harvard Club.

Three Twenty-Niners, Nat Barrows, ChrisBorn, and Larry Lougee, have become lords of manors on Moosehead Lake in Maine. These great lords and their families would apparently welcome other Twenty-Niners who wish to become copyholders in their wilderness domains.

It is with sorrow that we report the death of George McLachlan. The Class extends its deep sympathy to Louise and her family.
