From our new Alumni Fund Agent, GilBalkam, comes news that "The job continues to be absorbing, with a combination of financial, credit, and insurance duties which sometimes leads off into strange byways of sales and operating problems. No more trips to South America in prospect for a while, but every year something comes up to take me south in this country which has its points. Like all those good restaurants in Charleston, S. C., last spring.
"My main hobby of tournament bridge has been more neglected lately under the pressure of other activities and will be now even more so as I get my teeth into this Head Agent bit, I guess. For one thing, when I'm on a trip I now better start looking up classmates instead of the local duplicate bridge game — or better, try to find some bridge-playing classmates!
"Otherwise, the biggest conflict of interest is going to come when the Alumni Fund effort hits its peak in May and lune, just when the boat needs fitting-out and it is time to get the water skis waxed up. There may be a few salt-sprayed letters and bulletins going out to the class along about mid-June."
