Fall greetings to all '45s. The summer confusion is behind us and we're back doing business at the same old stand.

jack Hemingway's reminiscing about his famous father, Ernest, was featured in the Seattle press several months ago. Jack is northwest editor of Field and Stream and lives in Sun Valley, Idaho. At the time of his press exposure, Jack was in Seattle helping to form and lead a coalition to save Hell's Canyon and other Snake River tributaries from further dams.

Jim Dickson was recently honored by being named one of the 110 members of the new National Academy of Science's Institute of Medicine. The institute is preparing for what it hopes to be an influential life in the area of national health policy. Jim is head of the program of biology and medicine, National Institute of General Medical Science.

Recent corporate advancements ... Jim MacPherson is manager of corporate development of Joseph E. Seagrams and Sons. Inc. and will also serve as consultant to a subsidiary, Party Tyme Products Co. El Bush is assistant vice-president, real estate investment department, Aetna Life and Casualty. Ed who lives in West Hartford, Conn., has been with Aetna since 1947, most recently as regional director. George Ehinger is the new general manager, process equipment division of Dorr Oliver, Inc., a process engineering and equipment manufacturing concern in Stamford, Conn. George has been with the firm since 1945 and most recently was U. S. divisional director of marketing, process equipment division.

Word was recently received of the death of Phil Jackson in July 1970. No particulars are available. The Class extends its sympathy to the family.

John Truxal was awarded an honorary doctor of engineering degree by Indiana Institute of Technology where he presented the commencement address.

Recent interesting address changes ... The Reverend Allan Smith from the Holy Cross mission, Sierra Leone, West Africa to the Holy Cross Monastery, West Park N. Y. Two physician changes—Harry O'Connor from Reading, Mass. to Chatham, Mass. and John Randall from Staten Island to Concord, N. H. ... Bill Gauntlett from Hereford, Arizona to Dallas, Texas ...

Dick Welch from Easton, Pa. to Newbury-port, Mass. ... and two new Ontarians, Al Gluek from Nova Scotia to Mississauga and Dan Carpenter from Easthampton, Mass. to Temagami.

Ray Fontana, for several years the lone Republican on the Massachusetts Governor's Council, is the new president of the Republican Club of Massachusetts. Ray is a Longmeadow attorney and clerk of the probate court in Springfield.

Another fall football weekend is only weeks away. The Yale weekend will find a goodly number of classmates and families assembled at the Shady Lawn Motel in Hartford, Vt. The business meeting will be held Friday afternoon and the Friday evening social gathering will be at the DOC house at Occum Pond. Any and all '45s who can make the weekend please get in touch with the group at the motel for the up-to-date schedule. See you there.
