Kathryn M. Spence writes of her mother, widow of Ted Morehouse: "She is with me in California since she is now confined to her bed and is unable to write. We are lucky to have a good staff of nurses so she can be comfortable in her own home. She does not seem to be suffering, enjoys television and having me read to her. Mother's grandson, Ted Morehouse III, graduated from Dartmouth in 1963 and is now in Tuck School."

From Bill Sykes in Porto Rico, who holds the distinguished record of being the oldest man in the class, comes this message that he is still going strong with perfect health. He has a farm high up in the hills where he recently built a cottage as he had to move when his former home was sold. His sister, Mrs. E. Davis of Brownsville, Vt., spent a week with him not so long ago. She cleaned his cosacho, pressed his clothes and scolded him for his slack bachelor ways. For many years when he was called "viejo" (old man), he would answer "Soy un joven madure" (a mature youth), but he no longer does that for now he knows he is an old man. Before he moved he enjoyed his lodge, church, friends and books. Too bad you had to move, Bill.

Arthur P. Redman reports a visit from his first granddaughter, born December 19, 1962. His son is studying for the ministry and his daughter was married last summer to a young man who is studying for his doctorate in biochemistry.

From Mary Smith, widow of Rolfe W.Smith: "It is a pleasure to know that at last we 'girls' have some rating and if able doubtless would all gather at the next reunion. I was in Hanover during the last one. My son Justin '37 lives in Norwich and is executive director of the Hitchcock Clinic. I have three daughters living all the way from Norwich, Vt., to Delray Beach, Fla., where I plan to go this winter to be with my sister and younger daughter. I am happy to have the directory as it has revived my interest in the class and will give a contact with the surviving members. I was especially interested in hearing about Bob Leavens' grandson. Bob was married in Fitchburg, a nearby city, and for a number of years minister of the Unitarian Church so we saw them now and then."

Sam, son of Ned Calderwood, drops a note to let us know that his mother is now in a nursing home in Bangor, Me., where he lives. Not in good health and unable to write, but she did appreciate my card and note. "This is just a short reply to thank you for your kindness and thought."

Laura Scales, widow of Bob Scales, left her home in Northampton, Mass. (Smith College town), to be in Florida for the winter. Her address is 951 Victoria Drive, Dunedin. She likes it for the season but is glad to go home in the spring.

Gillie writes that Howard Hall has given up his home in Cobleskill, N.Y„ and is living in Haven Manor, 2 Prospect Street, Cobleskill, where he is attempting to adjust himself to a life without Gene.
