News has been received recently that the size of the '58 family has been increased by four. Leading contributors to the population explosion are Nancy and Bob Meyerson, who, on March 16, became parents of twin boys, Adam and David. This brings the Meyerson clan to a total of one basketball team and a cheerleader. In Boston, MaryAnn and Ted Harris announced the birth on February 21 of their second son, Thomas Hayward. From the farm implement capital of the world, which, of course, is Moline, Ill., we hear that Ginny and Hal Douglas are parents for the third time. Their latest and smallest addition, Richard Charles, who weighed only nine lbs., four ounces at birth, arrived January 31. Hal is moving to a newly constructed room on top of his garage.
February 22 was the date of the wedding of the former Miss Susan McKinley Quade and Bill Bahrenburg in West Orange, N. J. A week earlier, the former Miss Elizabeth H. Partridge became the bride of GordonHeald in Brookline, Mass.
Spring weddings are in store for at least two '58's. Miss Marjorie J. Arons, of Stamford, Conn., and Gene Laff have recently made known their engagement. Gene has attended Worcester College of Oxford University and, in addition, has a law degree from Harvard. He is presently with the New York investment banking firm of Carl M. Loeb, Rhoades & Co. Planning to be married at the U.S. Army Chapel in Perlacher Forst in Munich,- Germany are Miss Barbara DiPrima and Capt. Charles (Kit)Cowperthwaite. Kit is stationed in Munich with the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the U.S. Army. Kit's LL.B. degree is from the University of Colorado Law School.
Phil Weinseimer is really moving along with the Bekins Van & Storage Co. in New York. He recently was named manager of the corporate sales division with headquarters in the Bekins offices in Rutherford, N. J. Phil joined the company in 1962 as a national account salesman after earning his M.B.A. at Tuck and his captain's bars on duty with the Army at posts in the United States, Spain, and Bermuda. That last one must have been a tough assignment! Phil and his wife Bonnie live in Rutherford.
In the field of education, Dr. Peter Pappas has been named assistant professor of chemistry at the College of Arts and Sciences of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. Pete obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin and is now doing post-doc-toral work at Brandeis University. Jon Lehman is a student at the University of Minnesota Law School in Minneapolis.
Don Viny recently directed John Osborne's "Look Back in Anger" at the Experimental Wing of the Norfolk (Va.) Little Theater. Don, who last year was awarded his master's degree by William and Mary, is presently a drama teacher at Norview High School.
Arch Whitehead is now the president and major stockholder of the Management Survey and Search Corporation in New York. Arch supervises a four-person staff in the business of locating rare type scientists needed by leading firms for research and development projects. He organized his first search firm three years ago in the electronics field, but abandoned this project in order to be able to expand to all fields of science and technology.
Also on the business front, Walt Bowlby is currently a vice president of Insulating Specialties, Inc. of Middletown, N. J. DickGodschalk is a market analyst for Esso International, Inc. in New York. Phil Webster is a sales engineer for U.S. Gypsum Co. in Clifton, N. J.
Dr. Steve Rheingold is an assistant resident in medicine at Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Boston.
Recently published Green Derby statistics indicate that we have some heavy pulling to do if our class is to obtain distinction in support of the College. If you haven't yet contributed this year, let's get that check in as soon as possible.
