With thanks to the '19 Smoke Signal, whose editor was writing of their '19 fathers, we have news of two '45s - better such roundabout news than no news at all, but how about adding some details to fill out the bare facts, fellows? Ed Lilienfield is vice president of General Cigar Company. He had been associated with his father in their own cigar company which was sold to General Cigar Co. in 1956. Ed lives in Scarsdale. N. Y., and he and Betty have three children. Buzz Farrar, who lives in Winnetka Ill., practices the medical specialty of obstetrics and gynecology and teaches at Northwestern. Buzz has two children — come on, Buzz, the class records don't even state that you have a wife how about bringing us up to date!!

Congratulations to Ted and Barbara White of Medford, Mass., who announce the birth of their first child, Jane Balfour, on January 8, 1965. Hope these new responsibilities don't keep you folks from the '45 gatherings.

Don Ash sends the latest from Naples, Italy, where he is superintendent of operations for Afran Transport Company (Gulf Oil Corp.) — "sorry we missed the fabulous 20th reunion - nevertheless we were with you in spirit. Have been here in Naples for almost 18 months and will return to the States for home leave next summer. My Italian is improving at a slow but steady pace – regards to all."

Paul Newman dropped a few lines between recent trips - seems he and his wife had just returned from Puerto Rico and Paul was likely to be off again — "I have become involved in a movie script that may take me out of the country for several months." Please keep us informed, Paul.

Dick Murray, chairman of the Foreign Language department at Amphitheater High School, Tucson. Ariz., has been commissioned by the National Park Service to do the preliminary work in the development of the Fort Bowie National Historic Site in the Chiricahua mountains of Cochise County. Fort Bowie was the main focal point in the Apache conflicts beginning with Cochise and terminating with Geronimo, 1862-1886. Dick wrote "The History of Fort Bowie" as a graduate student at the University of Arizona.

On nautical green letterhead that symbolically unites a lighthouse, a TV camera, a seagull, and a channel selector, WGAN-TV of Portland, Me., announces that GeneWilkin, vice president of the Guy Gannett Broadcasting Services, was elected President of the Northeast Hearing and Speech Center, a United Fund agency in Portland. His election to the top post of this public service organization again demonstrates Gene's willingness to practice what he preaches; he's an outspoken advocate of the broadcaster's personal involvement in community and national public affairs. Gene is also serving his second term as Chairman of the Radio Free Europe Fund in Maine.

Here and there. . . . Bob Blaylock, Syracuse, N. Y., is the state manager for Modern Woodmen of America, specializing in life insurance and trusts. . . . Andy Carstenson reports that he visited Bob Wottrich and Bud Miller in Detroit - both men have moved to the Detroit area within the past year, Bob from Cleveland and Bud from Chicago.

For all who can make it, Saturday, March 27, the night of the Dartmouth Club Dance in Boston will see a '45 reunion. The executive committee will hold its spring meeting that day. See you on March 27.
