The "In Memoriam" section of this or a subsequent issue will include a brief report of Gordon Chipman's activities during and after his days on the campus. On behalf of the Class flowers were sent for the church service. Dolores, in her appreciative note of thanks, said "Patricia and I wish to express to each and every member of the class our deep appreciation for the beautiful spray of carnations, gladioli and roses which you sent for Chip. One of Chip's greatest pleasures was serving his class as Newsletter Editor. The honors you bestowed on him were deeply appreciated."

Holt McAloney has graciously agreed to serve as our Newsletter Editor until our June 1966 reunion. Many of you will recall that Holt was Editor of our Class Bulletin some years earlier. Holt's address is Sutton House, 415 East 52nd Street, New York 22, N. Y. He will be mighty glad to have a letter from many of you, to supplement and add to the many letters which have appeared in our "Smoke Signals" during the past 8 years.

Herm Trefethen, our Alumni Fund Class Agent, reports that he has enlisted the assistance of 61 men who will soon be contacting classmates in connection with the annual Alumni Fund Campaign. Herm says "An early and considered response will be greatly appreciated by me and my 61 assistants. A 12% increase over last year in our class goal means increased giving is necessary in all brackets."

In the Jan. 20 issue of "Smoke Signals" it was reported that Bob May had 9 children. — "An error" says Bob. A careful check at the May household discloses only 6, — the youngest Betsey, born Dec. 6, 1958, better known as the '26 "Class Baby." No one has disputed that statement as yet.

Winter and early spring vacations have taken some '26ers to off-the-beaten-path countries. Henry Bixby writes, "Margaret and I leave on March 10 for the Far East. If Sukarno and his boys_ permit, we will cover the entire Federation of Malaysia, Thailand, Burma, India, then to Nepal, Pakistan and the Kingdom of Swat and Uzbek SSR, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, the Holy Land, Turkey and finally the Balkans. I am sorry that Bill Hughes has left Turkey but hope to see Francis Pan in Hong Kong. Are there any classmates in any of the countries mentioned, perhaps in government work or even traveling at this time? Paths might cross. Believe it or not they make shoes in some of these countries particularly Malaysia and even Pakistan, which will get my mind back to business occasionally."
