An unusual group of Dartmouth men - all in contemporary classes at Hanover - forgather every winter season on little Anna Maria Key. It includes Horace Kidger '03,Roger Brown '05, Allan Brown '07, Bob Kenyon '07, Seymour Rutherford '08, HenryStone '08, and Percy Hobbs '08. This loyal gang always turns out in force for our club affairs in Sarasota, so last year we brought the Sarasota Club to them - a dutch treat luncheon which was enjoyed so well that we had an encore this year.

On Tuesday, February 28, 23 Dartmouth men, including the ones mentioned above, gathered at noon at the Holme's Beach Yacht Club on Anna Maria. This being an informal luncheon, there was no speaker, but President Gil Swett '17 did make a few remarks.

This meeting was another example of Dartmouth fellowship being sought and ejoyed, regardless of class or location; the classes ranged from Warren Kendall's class of '99 to David Rice's class of '40, and the majority of those present travelled more than forty miles to honor these loyal Sons of Dartmouth.

All those who were present — and many who were unable to attend - are looking forward to 1962, and another gathering on Anna Maria Key.

February 4 marked the Sarasota Dartmouth Club's annual Ladies Night Dinner at the Sarasota Bay Country Club, with a featured speaker from the College.

This meeting was one of the largest ever held by the Dartmouth Club here, with half a hundred loyal followers of the Green present. Although most of the evening meetings are attended by the distaff side, their presence at this meeting always adds a touch of festivity, and gaiety.

Mr. Warner Bentley spoke on a subject close to the minds and hearts of Dartmouth men everywhere - The Hopkins Center. There might have been some scepticism at the beginning of Warner's talk, but it is the writer's opinion that the last vestige of doubt about the Center was removed from the minds of the listeners by the time he stopped speaking. Warner gave an excellent discourse on the aims and objectives of the Center and clarified many questions that we, in Florida, have been kicking around for the past couple of years.

Not the least of the attractions at this gathering was the lovely wife of our speaker, whose warmth and charm captivated not only the men, as was to be expected, but also the many ladies present. Needless to say, the whole Sarasota Dartmouth contingent will be looking forward to the early return of this charming couple.
