Under the aggressive leadership of our president, Gene Elsbree '55, the Association had an active and enjoyable program in 1965.

The annual picnic was held at Angel's Island in the San Francisco Bay. Dick Gale'60, organized the event. Beer, barbecue, and baseball were featured in that order. Wives and children were included and it speaks well for the future of Dartmouth that children were in the predominance. The Island can only be reached by boat which means the picnic always features a pleasant boat trip across the Bay. In August. Dartmouth and the San Francisco Giants combined for the annual baseball game. The Giants, with vice-president Chub Fenney '43 cooperating, let Dartmouth get into the act when Tom Hamilton '55 pitched warm-up. Also, the Giants defeated the Dodgers, but we understand the Dodgers got revenge. Dinner was at the Rathskeller. Bob King '57 (no mean Softball pitcher in his own right), organized.

And Dartmouth Night in San Francisco was one of the most nostalgic in years. AbeWinslow '20, who will long be remembered for his lengthy stint as the mainstay of the Association, reminisced on Dartmouth nights of old. They sound like great affairs. That same spirit should be revived. The turn-out was about 60 at Veneto's.

The Dartmouth-Princeton game was broadcast on private wire at the Pioneer Hotel in Woodside. Naturally, it was a highly successful affair (from the Dartmouth viewpoint) with that 28 to 14 score. Congratulations to Coach Blackman for the tremendous season. The broadcast partially filled the void that the West Coast people feel on athletic events. We look forward to the football highlight movies. The turn-out was well over 300 people.

Luncheons were held featuring Professor Al Ives and Dean Tribus of the Engineering School. Both made interesting comments on the Dartmouth scene.
