Nancy Elliott, contacted recently at Willow Spring Circle in Hanover, reveals that she is " knitting like crazy" for the Hospice of the Upper Valley. A longtime, active member of our class, she and a group of associates are busily engaged in fashioning sweaters for teddy bears. These ursine sweaters are white and are fronted with a big, green "D." The bears are small, inanimate and brown. The project is not purely commercial or recreational, however. There is a vital eleemosynary aspect. The lettered teddies are put up for sale and the proceeds are contributed to the Hospice Program for Grieving Children. This is one of the great and growing programs of the hospice movement to ease the pain of those in dire physical condition, and Nancy enthusiastically supports its activities. Incidentally, the Hanoverians recently placed a small family of the teddies in the Alumni Relations Office and they sold like hot cakes. Nancy had no information as to whether or not Nelson Armstrong '71, director, made a purchase.

Nancy also brought us up to date on other '33 Hanover residents. Ray Theriault had taken off for England and Scotland with granddaughter to visit relatives. Waxy Wright was finding the going pretty tough physically, but faces difficulty with fortitude. He is at Kendal. Jean Meek was going on all cylinders and was beginning to look forward to her annual respite at her Maine summer retreat.
