Rifle Team

With five returning lettermen and several standouts from last year's freshman team, Dartmouth's varsity rifle team is going to be strong this season. Runners-up last year in the New Englaijd Rifle League, the team is aiming to take top honors away from the University of Maine.

The rifle team has also been strengthened by the addition of ten new 40xB match rifles and ten new spotting scopes. This makes the equipment much improved over last season.

The freshman marksmen also show promise. Not only has there been a good turnout, with twelve men working for the five spots that count in competition, but most of the shooters have had either high school or N.R.A. shooting experience.

On Saturday, November 4, Dartmouth opens its rifle season with a non-league shoulder-to-shoulder match with Yale at New Haven. Last year Dartmouth won the match.
