Whenever I contemplate how my days are spent in this, the most romantic of months, I am oft reminded of those lyric lines by Edna St. Vincent O'Malley, to win
"Oh to be in Brattleboro, now that April's here." Shortly after this most pleasant memory my mind wanders softly to the beauteous poetry of William Carlos Carlos when he penned: "When Spring comes in on little frog feet." Then of course there is the Bard himself, William Fhakefpere who sublimed: "O how this spring of love resembleth the uncertain glory of an April swamp." Who among us is so common as to let slip from his heated headbone the phrases of William Wordswords: "The sweet small clumsy feet of April came into the ragged meadow of my back forty." Or perhaps a line from a play by West Virginia Williams "Yah, babydoll, that April's got class, as long as you don't freeze your father-figure."
Now that you are all rolling on the floor fighting your offspring for the change that fell out of your pockets I shall proceed on to matters of greater inport (or export if you wish) than old April.
For example, you should quit inviting Steve Bradish to your bachelor parties 'cuz his wife of three months won't let him go without an escort... her. She is the former Miss Liliane Gachan of Nice (for the uncultured like Marro, Welch, Allen Foster, Miller, and Willy Cooper that's in France). Steve is with the Navy, stationed in Washington, D. C.
When a Tuck graduate becomes an ice cream man, he does it big. Rick Husband has been promoted to product manager for ice cream in the marketing department of H. P. Hood and Sons, Boston. He was formerly assistant marketing manager for ice cream at Hood, a leading New England dairy and foods company. The Husbands and their three children live in sailing country Marblehead, Mass.
Here's another, better than quotes about April, piece of news, George Jackson, Esquire, has joined a law firm in Danielson, Conn. Danielson is near Norwich. George and wife Judy think Eastern Connecticut life is super and are raising and training kuala bears.
Rog McArt has been named general foreman of one of Packard Electric's plants, a General Motors Company in Warren, Ohio. His career with the Packard Division began in 1964 when he was named an analyst in the production control department. In 1965 he was promoted to general supervisor in that department. Rog has a B.E. from Thayer School and a master of science degree in industrial engineering from Stanford.
Even if you've forgotten your old secretary and don't write him even a postcard, not even a bloody 4 cent postcard, you can at least remember to make up for it by being generous to your Class Agent when he comes around to call on you in behalf of Dartmouth's future. Be good lads, now and write a very short, homey note to either worthless Tom Allen or trustworthy me. We ain't got no news 'less you send it in. Cool it.
