Only a month to go before the greatest ever "20th with tribe" gets underway. A meeting was held at the Dartmouth Club on March 23 consisting of both the executive and reunion committees. At that time we were honored to see and hear of the things that will be in store for all of you in June. Fun for all of us but, believe me, if you have a child over 12 this can be the greatest weekend he ever had. From a business standpoint, our president Al Bildner asked Joe Scandore to set up a nominating committee to recommend the nominations for an eleven-man executive committee. According to our constitution, the executive committee is elected either from the nominations of the nominating committee or by your own nominations from the floor. The executive committee nominates and elects a president, class secretary, and treasurer. The news letter editor and bequeath chairman are appointed, as is the class agent, who is appointed with the okay of the College administration. Joe Scandore has selected as the members of the committee Frank Weber,Ham Chase, Hugh Chapin, Mel Nelson,Dick Hollerith, and Al Gray. If any of you has a selection of people whom you would like to see - and include yourself — on the executive committee, please let Joe know before the reunion. His mailing address is: 281 Hartshorn Drive, Short Hills, New Jersey 07078. Keep in mind that the executive committee, although the original nominations are for eleven men, can and is expanded from those eleven to whatever size is necessary to fully cover the country and to do what they think is best for you and the Class as a whole.

Our constant award winner, Dick Hill, of National Life Insurance Company of Vermont, has just received another one in which he was given an appreciation award of the Claremont (N. H.) Chamber of Commerce. He was master of ceremonies at the banquet, a director and former president of the Chamber. Dick has done so well at his company, which is the Manchester, N. H., general agency of National Life Insurance Company that to our knowledge he has never had to pay for a vacation in his life.

The City National Bank of Wichita Falls has promoted Jack Jeffus to senior vice president. Jack has been with the bank since 1949 and has served in several capacities in the civic world such as the Downtown Kiwanis Club, the Wichita Falls Housing Authority, the Wichita Club, Broadway Theatre League, and Civic Music Association. In 1957 he was named as one of the Outstanding Young Texans and has served as an instructor for the American Institute of Banking.

R. J. Reynolds, Inc. in recent years purchased several food manufacturing plants of which Chun King is the best known. Frank P. Wuerfel has been named vice president for sales of R. J. Reynolds Foods, Inc.

And speaking of Chun King, John Lee, the marketing director, has just run a promotional luncheon exploiting the Chinese New Year. Chun King awarded children's rickshaws, sets of chopsticks, and large Chun King gift kits. American-Oriental cookbooks were on every table, plus free Chun King Egg Rolls. Chun King started in 1947 with a loan of $2,500 and was sold to R. J. Reynolds for $63,000,000 - not a bad return on the investment, is it?

The annual alumni-varsity hockey game was held on March 4, and, although the alumni did not do too well in scoring points, you will be pleased to know Bruce Mather,Ralph Warburton, Hamilton Chase, and George Crosen all went for the big athletic bit in the attempt to show the youngsters that they still had it. At the testimonial dinner given for Eddy Jeremiah '30, Ralph Warburton made a presentation on behalf of the Hockey Officials Association, of which he is the president.

On the same day, there was a sons of alumni hockey game and again we were well represented: Paul Warburton age 13, Doug Crosen age 11, Tim Harris age 14, Scotty Crosen age 14, and Tom Chase age 13. When you really stop to think about it the Class of '47 was very lucky to have such talented people.

Townes Harris writes to say that he met a lot of old friends at the Alumni Fund kickoff including Ed Senghas, Doug Burch, Mike Pender, Ralph De Fonce, Julie Sayer, Bernie O'Shea, Len Sommer, Larry Goodman, and Bob Rowland.

Big things doing at the reunion. Don't forget to send your money to Dick Hollerith, 142 Inwood Avenue, Upper Montclair, N. J.

If you have sent money and something comes up to prevent your going, all funds sent to Dick Hollerith are refundable.
