In keeping with past practice, the Class will hold an informal reunion before the Princeton game on Saturday, October 12, at Bob Kimball's house in Hanover. Frank Ettari and all of the officers of the class hope that many of you and your families will be able to attend this year.
Our treasurer, Don Furber, was recently elected a vice president of the First National Bank of Boston. Don was previously in the trust new business division of the Old Colony Trust Company, the trust affiliate of the First National Bank of Boston, and he will now have charge of the corporate agency department which, among other matters, involves him in the administration of the numerous mutual fund accounts handled by the bank.
The Reverend George A. Magoon has been appointed headmaster of Trinity Episcopal School in Galveston, Texas. After Dartmouth, George received his master's degree in education from Springfield College and later graduated from Berkeley Divinity School in New Haven. He then served in Episcopal churches in Woodsville and Littleton and was later chaplain and a member of the teaching staff at St. Mary's-in-the-Mountains in Littleton. Prior to accepting his new responsibility in Galveston, George was a member of the staff of St. Paul's School in Syracuse, N. Y. George, Joanne, and their six children are now living in Galveston, their address being care of Trinity Episcopal School, .2216 Ball Avenue, Galveston, Texas 77550.
In June I reported Jim Barnet's appointment as general manager of the Colton Company. Now he has been named President of Colton, a division of the Gillette Company. Colton manufactures, packages, and markets cosmetics and toiletries in the specialized fashion field. Jim's previous experience in this field was as vice president of Shulton, Inc., from 1963 to 1967, and president of the Aerosol Corporation of America, 1958-1967. He also was president of Wellesley Advertising Associates from 1955 to 1967.
Robert Huessler was recently named president of Trenton (N. J.) State Teachers College. Bob received his master's and doctorate degrees at Princeton where he specialized in International Relations. He is a former director of the African-Asian Program at Syracuse University and, for the past two years, has been an associate professor of European history at the University of Vermont.
The final report of recognition coming to our academic classmates involves DonaldDrake who is the new principal of Millbury Memorial High and Junior High School (Massachusetts). Don had previously been principal of Hopedale Junior-Senior High School. He received his master's degree in education from Harvard in 1954. Don and his family live in Mendon, Mass.
Dr. Stephen Hoye was recently named a vice president of the Chamber of Commerce of Pawtucket, R. I. He will head a new department which will have primary responsibility for the development of human resources, the model cities program, and various studies currently being undertaken in Pawtucket and surrounding towns involving sociological, economic, and governmental activities. Following graduation from Dartmouth, Steve received his degree from Harvard Dental School in 1949 and from Harvard Medical School in 1951.
