A note from Milt Hoefle brings the exciting news that Myles Lane has been nominated for Justice of the New York State Supreme Court. He has the endorsement of all four parties and therefore his election is assured. Myles is a partner in the New York law firm of Schwartz & Frohlich and since its founding in 1958 has been a member of the New York State Commission of Investigation. In 1967 Governor Rockefeller named Myles, a Democrat, to be permanent chairman of the Commission. From the time Myles first attracted national attention for his dazzling open-field running on the gridiron, he continued to get in the headlines as the country's leading football scorer, an All American, a member of the New York Rangers and then the championship Boston Bruins hockey team in 1929, head football coach of Boston University in 1932, assistant U. S. Attorney 1937, later appointed U. S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York in 1951.

Archie Holden sent half a dozen excellent color pictures of a '28 reunion in Yosemite National Park with Charley and Mary Proctor just before our 40th. We'll use a couple of them in the '28 Campaigner picture supplement which Herpel, Neary and I are dreaming up. If you took pictures at the 40th, won't you loan them to me? We have excellent pictures taken by Peggy Phillips, Stew Hoagland and others, but we'd like more.

Dohrm Sinclair, just back from Europe, writes that he is now with Way Associates of Princeton, N. J., fund raising experts - and just starting an assignment in Point Pleasant, N. J.... Wes Smith retired June 18 after 26 years with the Veterans Adminstration.

I figure I shall have to live to 93 to accomplish all the things I have down on the agenda."

Archie Holden is bemoaning the fact he won't be able to go elk hunting this year because he has a cast on his left leg up to his hip. His leg was broken in two places on July 4 up in the mountains "in a silly fall," but he is home now and on crutches.

Larry Sleeper's widow, Helen, lives in Chula Vista, Calif., and writes that their son, David, received his B.S. from San Diego State last June and daughter Martha is in her third year of teaching.
