The vagaries of our publication schedule require us to pause during the crisp autumn of each year and reflect upon the preceding spring, which inevitably has lured many of our classmates to the altar. With this in mind, and with only a short pause in the present to wish the Indians gridiron success in a difficult campaign, we return to those wonderful days of yesteryear - June, 1968.
Bill Rutledge has finished officers' training at Lackland AFB, Tex., and been commissioned a second lieutenant. He qualified for pilot training and has been assigned to Craig AFB, Alabama. Bill, who was a psychology major at Dartmouth and participated in many of the College's outdoor activities, did graduate work at Boston University. Best of luck in your new duties, Bill.
Gary Miller and Ed Jereb saw quite a bit of each other during the first week of June. Ed was on hand on the Ist in Cheshire, Conn., when Gary and Marilyn Barnes (Cornell B.S., M.S. from Penn, working on master's in religion at the Yale Divinity School) exchanged vows. Gary, in turn, was the best man a week later in Rollins Chapel when Ed and Paulette Silva, a Douglass College graduate, were married. Gary, like his wife, is a student at the Yale Divinity and is serving a one-year internship in Waverly, Ohio. Ed is a graduate student at Princeton's School of Architecture.
On June 3, in Smith College's Cutter Courtyard, Erv Burkholder and Christina Miesowitz were married. Erv, who graduated from Stanford Business School, is employed by Ibeck Corp. in NYC, and Christina is enhancing her Smith degree with work at Columbia's Teachers College.
A pair of University of Washington students merged on June 9 in Springfield, Mass. Laurence Goss and Sharon Margaret Ripp, a University of Wisconsin alumna, have returned to Seattle where she is working for a master's and Larry is studying for a doctorate degree in urban geography under an NDEA fellowship. John Gait was best man.
Rick Meyer and Eric King were on hand on June 22 in Chatham, N. J., when BillWegener and Jean Frances Henderson were married. Jean is a Colby Jr. and USC grad. Bill received his M.B.A. from Stanford and is with the Lightcraft Division, Scovil Manufacturing Company, in Los Angeles.
Also on June 22 Bill Duval and Barbara Brewer Folino, Bill's staunchest supporter through athletic contests in Essex Junction, Vt., Deerfield and Dartmouth, were married. Duvs will teach math and science at Essex Junction Intermediate School while Barbara attends the University of Vermont. Fraternity brother Bob Page was an usher.
The wedding of Janice Jones and BobBaldwin took place in the bride's hometown, Everett, Wash., on June 22. Jane is now teaching in Seattle and Bob, who earned an M.B.A. from the University of Washington, is employed at the University Hospital in an administrative post until he enters the Army as a 2nd Lt. in February.
Harry Greenberg, in his third year at Columbia's College of Physicians and Surgeons, was married to Diane Stein in White Plains, N. Y., on June 24. She attended Bryn Mawr and graduated from Barnard.
Dean Spatz and Ruth Neiman were married on June 29 in Orleans, Vt. Dean has picked up a Master's from Dartmouth and Ruth is a UVM alumna. Ensign Bill Lunsford has to tote a larger sea bag since his wedding on June 29. Bill and Patricia Griffiths, a graduate of the Dominican College of Blauvelt, are living in Alexandria, Va.
July 6 was a day to remember for four '66's, all of whom reside around New York City. In Greenville, N. Y., Tom Louis and Larry Simms were ushers at the wedding of Walt Stern and Elizabeth Lewis. Elizabeth graduated from Northwestern University and will be teaching in Chicago where Walt is in his third year at the University of Chicago Medical School.
In nearby Chappaqua, N. Y., Germaine Rodier, a senior at Merrimack College, and Bob Fritz were married on the 6th. Bob completed the two-year Dartmouth Med School course and is now at Harvard. JohnLewis was best man.
Chris Kinum, now a teacher and coach at Orange High School, teamed up with another educator, Mary Anne Wilkinson, on July 6 in East Orange, N. J. And at Chatham, N. J., Paul Klee, completing the degree requirements at Columbia University's School of General Studies, married Marya Wasung, a Barnard senior.
From Oslo, Norway, comes word that Bill Todd and Eva Andenaes were married on July 27.
Greg McGregor held off until August, but he too succumbed to the charms of Abigail Hazel, and they were married on August 3 in West Newton, Mass. Greg is a third year Harvard Law student and Abigail holds degrees from Centenary College and the University of Massachusetts.
Dorothy Sue Barcham and Pete Cleaves exchanged vows on August 31st in New York City.
