Chief Potlatch writes that plans for the fifth reunion of the Class of '64 are well underway. The reunion weekend is June 20, 21, and 22, 1969. Chief Potlatch has chosen as co-chairmen, Sandy. McInnis and NickLestorde. It sounds like a great weekend and I hope many of you will be able to make it up here to Hanover.
John Carpenter has been appointed assistant to the Director of Financial Aid at Dartmouth College. John was recently discharged from the Army. His last assignment was coaching the freshman hockey team at West Point. He was an insurance underwriter in New York City before joining the service.
Robert B. Blagden has been appointed Corporate Planning Analyst at Kaiser Cement and Gypsum Corporation's Oakland headquarters. Bob earned an MBA degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 1966 after which he served two years in the U. S. Army Reserve attaining the rank of first lieutenant. Bob and his wife Carolyn reside in Oakland, Calif.
Mike Simonson and Linda Donaldson were married September 15 in New York City. Mike received a Master's degree in taxation from the New York University School of Law. He is with the New York law firm of Simpson, Thatcher, and Bartlett. Millicent Raymond and Tom Maddox were married in August. Tom is working toward his doctorate in history at the University of Michigan. After their honeymoon in Canada, the couple are now living in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Bob Behrens has been appointed an assistant manager in the Systems and Planning Department of Northern Trust Company, Chicago. A member of the Management Science Division, Bob joined the bank in 1966.
Wally Lord has joined McCormick, Incorporated under the General Management program. Wally served for nearly 3½ years with the U. S. Navy, the last two as assistant supply officer on the guided missile destroyer, "U.S.S. Buchanan." Rand Stowell has been elected president of Timberlands, Incorporated. Rand received his LL.B. degree from the Boston University School of Law in 1967. Timberlands, Incorporated is located in Dixfield, Me.
Representing the class in Germany is Paul Solomon, who was promoted to first lieutenant in the Army. Paul is the finance officer for computer programming in the U. S. Army Central Finance and Accounting Office, Europe, located near Heidelberg. He entered the Army in April 1967 and was sent overseas in July 1967. Before entering the Army, he was putting his M.B.A. from Tuck to work at Arthur Andersen and Company in Seattle, Washington.
John Preston and Barbara DeSantis were married June 30 in Newton, Mass. DanaKelley was best man. John is a reporter for the Evening Gazette in Worcester, and they are living in Watertown, Mass. Bill Segel and Barbara Boardman were married during the summer. Barbara is a graduate of Oberlin College and Bill received his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School last year.
I got a letter from Dan S. Connelly who fills me in on his life since graduation. He was married early this summer to the former Miss Dorothy Schmidt of Brockport, N. Y. Fred Roberts was an usher. In August Dotty and Dan traveled to England where he is now working at Oxford in experimental cartography at the Royal College of Art.
Chief Rufus Potlatch has a tribe of followers who will be getting in touch with you shortly concerning the Dartmouth Fifth Year Reunion. They would appreciate knowing as soon as possible each of your plans for the reunion. After all those years of sneaking beer from reunion tents, we will finally have our own.
