With the newspaper strike over in New York, we've lost our excuse to fill the column with current news events from around the world. Instead we shall again describe with a combination of sad bewilderment and winter horniness the recent matrimonial adventures of the Class. There is a large time lag between the time this column is presented to the editor for censorship and the time it reaches the Class, so while now the Class reunion Nov. 13 is a month away when you are reading this the weekend is imminent. Drop everything and come on up to the North Country - it's going to be a great weekend. Football game with Cornell, Houseparties, and a chance to see many old (?) friends from '64. Talking about class numerals, it's a little hard to get used to all the freshmen yelling '69 all the time.

Herb McCord after being pinned to Judi Stewart for 23 years has recently said the fateful words. He set the scene beautifully, soft lights, champagne, subdued music with a small box on the table as she came into the room. With trembling fingers she unwrapped the gaily decorated package and enclosed was Herby's high school ring. After all the shouting was over, he produced the real thing. They've set the date for next June 18.

I've got a real interesting note here from Alumni Records, it says that Konrad VonMoltke married Barbara Von Haeften on Aug. 21, 1965 in Germany. It's brief but to the point, whoever you are we wish you the best of luck. Also Harvard in pursuing its policy of Harvard-Dartmouth cooperation has sent in a list of recent '64's in their June graduating class. They were: Dan Wheeler, an M.A.T.; Irving Tullar, an M.A.; Dick Wearn Jr., an M.A.; and Pat Terenzini, an M.A.T. Hope to see you on the sunny side at the Harvard game.

Another Wearn in the news, Dr. and Mrs. Richard B. Wearn have announced the engagement of their daughter. Miss Mary Wearn to Ron Smith, the news clipping continues "who is with . . Ron, write and tell us more about the wedding and what you're doing. Dick Payne was married at the end of August to Miss Susanne Rosenblum in Westport, Conn. Susanne went to Vermont College; they will live in New Haven, Conn., where Dick is a candidate for a doctorate degree in physics.

Dave Stenger, who gained his Master of Business Administration degree from Tuck School this past June, has joined the Elanco Products Company, a division of Eli Lilly and Company, as a credit accountant. Dave's new position makes him a resident of Indianapolis, Ind., and he can be reached at 336 North Wallace Avenue.

Lew and Judy Eisenberg have a new addition to the family, a baby girl - Miss Lisa Ellen Eisenberg. Congratulations, Lew and Judy. Joe Merritt planned to be married Oct. 23 to Miss Beverlee May Shea. He is now serving as an ensign in the Navy. George Kinzie was married on June 26 to the former Miss Noel de Lesdernier. George is now studying for his Master's degree at the Thayer School and living in Norwich. Vt.

On August 8 Perry Butler and the former Donna Latham were married with many old and recent Dartmouth graduates on hand. The wedding took place in St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the reception following was reputed to be quite a blast. The New York Times states that K. Bradford Evans was the best man and who can argue with the Times?

Well, I'm running out to the end of the page. I'd like to see a few letters about what you are doing. Don't be embarrassed about sending it in, it's the only way we can spread the news. See you at the Fall Reunion.

On hand for the wedding of Karen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Russell '39,and John E. Christiansen 64 in Peterborough, N. H., were (l to r) David Heyer '64,Herbert Nichols '39.
