For me, at least, Harvard weekend this year was reminiscent of certain weekends past that included a 48-0 shellacking of old John Harvard except this year the score went the wrong way. However, once we got the football game out of the way, a great time was had by all.

Seeing familiar faces in the Cage after the game, partying 'til all hours and just being in Cambridge made it a weekend to remember.

Among the many '67's I saw and spoke with were Pete Locke and Art Haupt. Pete is in the Navy and was in Boston on what I guess they call a weekend pass. Art, after a "shortened jaunt in the Peace Corps is back in Hanover finishing up and reviewing for the "D" under the "nom de plume" of Basil Seal.

Seated in front of me at the game was Bill Yaggy. He and Jerry Zaks are at Smith College doing graduate work in Drama. Also, Bill tells me that Buff Arnold is serving his stint in the Air Force in Germany.

Bill Moore is at Columbia working towards his Ph.D. in French literature.

Still plodding along at Harvard Law is Mike Merenda, though he has adopted the disguise of a janitor and custodian and lives in a most unique apartment.

We have been receiving many letters recently. Not only is it good to hear from you but it gives us much up-to-date information to pass along. So, keep those letters coming.

Mike Wolff writes from Minneapolis where he is in his second year of law school at the University of Minnesota. He is putting his experience on the "D" to good use as a part-time reporter for the "Minneapolis Star." As if all this wasn't enough, Mike is in the midst of planning his Dec. 21 marriage to Patricia Barrett, a first year student at the University of Minnesota medical school.

From Fort Dix, the word is that Pvt. Jack Curley married Mary Ellen Strong (Wayne State Univ. '68) on July sth in Southfield, Michigan. Ushers included Rich Paolino, Andy Saxon '68, George Trumbull '66 and Gerry LaMontagne '66. Paul Killebrew also was there to represent '67. Jack is in pre-OCS training and, in his letter, says that Brian Becker, Tom Walsh and Ron Lorenson are all at Fort Dix with him.

Another of the recent letters comes from Steve Landa in Vietnam. He is an advisor to a Vietnamese artillery battalion which was located north of Hue when he wrote. In September, he had a surprise visitor - Beirne Lovely who is with the Marines in Vietnam. Steve mentioned that he would enjoy hearing from other '67's. Those of Steve's friends who take the time to write to me might also take another few minutes to drop Steve and the others in our armed services a line.

Hal Budd, currently a second-year student at the New Jersey College of Medicine also took time out to write. Hal's recent bride, the former Gail Risser, is also in the medical field, as a nurse. Their wedding on August 10th was a real Dartmouth affair. Bill Fell, Al Hine and Doug Kerr '63 were ushers. Others in attendance were Bill Do ran, Bill Budell and Ted Truex, along with many Dartmouth wives.

On August 17, 1968, Master Frederick Bohen Henry Jr. made his debut. Congratulations are in order for the proud parents, Fred Henry and his wife Lynn (Middlebury '67).

After receiving his MBA in 1968, HowieSchulman went on to Harvard Law School where he is currently a first-year student.

Wally Bowman is spending his time this year as a teacher and coach at Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Illinois.

Kenema, Sierre Leone, West Africa is the base of operations for Cresson Kearny's activities with the Peace Corps.

Richard Chu is pursuing his studies in the department of physics at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Long Island.

Ron VanDewoestine is now attending the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. In June, 1968, Ron received his BMS from Dartmouth Med.

We hope the coming holiday season will be one of good cheer, happiness, and many presents for all of you.

Second Lieutenant Brian Patterson has recently received a regular commission in the Air Force at the Los Angeles Air Force Station, Calif.

Brian had previously held a reserve commission as an OTS graduate. However, he was named for regular status on the basis of his performance, educational background, and potential as an officer. Currently, Brian is kept busy as a materiel engineer in the Space and Missile Systems Organization with the Air Force Systems Command.
