The Dartmouth Alumni Fund drive for 1968 is on and your secretary hopes that our participation will be 100 per cent. Bob Kenyon, our head agent, and his assistant Sarah Woodworth would be delighted.

I am sorry to report that our beloved classmate Reuben Hayes of Knoxville, Tenn., died on February 7 at the Presbyterian Hospital after suffering a broken hip from a fall at his home. See In Memoriam in this or a later issue for details.

Edward L. Ashley of Evanston, Ill., is enjoying good health and would like to have some of his classmates visit him and see that part of the U.S.

Fern Liscomb, Box 42, Elkins, N. H., writes me that George's health has improved gad that he plans to resume publication of his paper by early spring and is looking forward to attending our informal reunion in June.

"The Bradenton Herald" of Bradenton, Fla., on January 30 comments on Fred Baldwin's great activity in behalf of the Lions' Eye Bank in Miami and says that "The Old Salt is one of Manatee County's most noted and active citizens." Keep up the good work. ,

Bob Lyons of Washington, D. C., attended all three Dartmouth football games with Harvard, Columbia, and Princeton and is planning to attend our 61st informal reunion at Hanover with Bob Barton.

Dorothy Pierce writes about her deceased husband, Carlos Pierce, as follows: "Dartmouth and his '07 classmates never had a more loyal friend than Cully. He lived over those years so much during the last months of his life when reading became impossible and he talked so much of those old times." How true that is!

Allan Brown, Roger and Jane and some friends visited Edith Sanborn at her Mease Manor Apartment in Dunedin, Fla., some forty miles from Anna Maria, and had a delightful time. Edith keeps busy doing research and writing on local matters and edits the House Organ.

William R. (Bruno) Kimball is in Idylwild Rest Home, Woodacre, Calif. 94973 and would like to hear from his classmates. Please write him as I am doing myself today.

Mrs. William E. Witham (Amy) of Swarthmore, Pa., died on January 12, 1968.

Classmates having birthdays in April are: Allan Brown, born April 4, 1885; John C. Burton, born April 4, 1885; and Wilfred H. Smart, born April 22, 1883. We think of you often and wish you all a very Happy Birthday

Your Secretary has been chairman of the American Red Cross for the town of Upton for over ten years and during the drive in March the Fund Chairman. There are over fifty solicitors making house-to-house calls and we will make the quota as always.

We look forward to seeing you on Commencement weekend, June 7. Our class headquarters will be Russell Sage where a number of rooms on the first floor have been reserved for us. Drop me a line when the spirit moves.
