Am in the midst of a wonderful reunion with Bud Striekler and Bert Gross '30. We sat together over a beaker or two of lemonade and made up for about 35 years of not seeing one another. Bud looks great and is still as sharp as ever. He especially asked about Woody Woodbridge, Bill Strangward (where has he been?), Lyt Johnston, JohnComehlsen, Frank Williams, Cart Strickland, and many others. Hawaii is indeed all they say about it. The natives are friendly and the gals are delicious. This can be habitforming. Aloha.

Charlie Dudley passes on the news that Esther Nighswander, "Mrs. Arthur," and Frances Dudley, "Mrs. Charles," were elected to the General Court of New Hampshire. Esther received a large number of votes in Guilford and Fran was nominated both as Republican and Democrat, and consequently ran 50% ahead of any candidate in Ward 3 in Lebanon. These two girls will improve the quality of legislation in New Hampshire, sayeth Charlie.
Al Fisher writes: "Both Sally and I retired last Mother's Day and are now on a second honeymoon. What could be more appropriate? She had worked part time at the Roslyn Library for fourteen years and I at the New York Telephone Company for 39 years. Having been public servants for so many years we thought we would give some of our hobbies a break, the foremost of which is growing younger with our six grandchildren as they grow older. We like to do anything they can do such as hiking, bicycling, sailing, swimming, tennis, birdwatching, gardening, traveling, etc. My term as president of the Brooklyn Management Club is ending and I have picked up an extracurricular activity as vice-president of Roslyn Preservation, Inc., a non-profit organization designed to rehabilitate historical homes and make Roslyn a second Williamsburg. Christopher Morley, the author, was a near neighbor before his death. He wrote many charming stories about Roslyn and now we are engaged in preserving his knothole cabin and moving it to a new 500-acre park named in his honor. We have signed up for the Venezuela Dartmouth Reunion starting February 2 and we are hopeful of having some more 29'ers climb aboard the plane when we take off."
