This is Monday, January 6 and the deadline for this article to be at Hanover is the fifth day of the month. As you can see we are late and we hope that the people at the ALUMNI MAGAZINE office will be kind enough to publish us even though we have little news to report.
We just returned from a two-week skiing trip at Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, Vt., and while blindly stumbling down a trail covered with 10" of fresh wet packed powder we "fell" upon Neil Callahan and a good part of his large brood. It seems that Neil who lives in Darien, Conn., is an annual visitor to Okemo, and skis there every Christmas with his family. Neil was breaking in his youngest son, Tommy and we were embarrassed by the comparison of our abilities. At the same location and the same week while doing some "apres-skiing" my seven-year-old daughter, JoEllen came in and said "Daddy, I met another classmate of yours on the slopes." It turned out to be Ham Chase who was also skiing with his family over the holidays. Ham lives in Keene, N. H., and brings a trailer over to the mountain so that he and his family can ski out the door.
We have not had any word from AllenGasner in a long time. Via the grapevine however, we know that he has left Puerto Rico and is living in the Washington, D. p., area where he is engaged in the building business. More important however is the fact that his wife Beverly just had her second book published. "Girls Rules" has just come out and we hope it will be as much of a success as her first book "Nina Upstairs."
There are a few more address changes and we note that Sandy Gross is now living at 105 Garth Road in Scarsdale, N. Y., and John Havens very intelligently has improved the weather situation by staying at the Breakers, 710 North Ocean Blvd., Apt. 505, Pompano Beach, Fla. We don't imagine anybody would mind dropping in on John this time of the year. Gerry Phillips still living in New York has moved to 477 Madison Avenue, New York, N. Y. 10022 and BobProchaska has moved his family to 339 Mountain Rd., Basking Ridge, N. J.
We are afraid that's about all there is to report and it's certainly light. If you don't want this column to completely disappear, please fill out the cards enclosed in the Christmas greetings you received and put them in the mail today. A longer letter or additional news will be most welcome.
