Three seniors and a freshman received special awards at the Dartmouth football team's annual banquet. Randy Wallick, the captain and offensive end, received the Coach Blackman Trophy as the senior who contributed most to the success of the team. Freshman halfback Stu Simms received the first Earl P. Hamilton Memorial Award for his outstanding contribution to the 1968 Dartmouth freshman team. Dave Boyle, a senior fullback, was presented the Earl P. Hamilton Varsity Award as the senior who displayed the sincere interest and friendliness and sense of humor plus an appreciation for the outdoors that were Hamilton's characteristics. Hamilton was a member of coach Bob Blackman's staff at Denver and Dartmouth from 1953 until his death last June.

The "Manners Makyth Man" Award, made to the man who has conducted himself to the advantage of the College and who has displayed good manners in the sense of William Wykeham's phrase, was awarded to senior Bill Kinschner.

Dartmouth football coach Bob Blackman has been appointed a trustee of the American Football Coaches Association, joining six other leading coaches from across the nation who were named at the AFCA's convention in Los Angeles in January. . . . Bob Casciola, a member of Blackman's staff at Dartmouth since 1966, has been named defensive coordinator on the University of Connecticut football coaching staff. Casciola, who coached at Princeton for eight years prior to coming to Dartmouth, was in charge of linebackers and defensive ends on the Dartmouth staff. . . . Dartmouth lacrosse and soccer coach Whitey Burnham has been elected president of the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse League. . . . Dave Smoyer '63, Dartmouth's All-America soccer goalie in 1962 and the Big Green's last nine-letter winner (soccer, squash, tennis), has been named Associate Director of Athletics at Yale.
